I expect the defense to be really good this year based on the talent they have coming back. I think they will have to be.

The offense will be really green. No proven running backs, and an unknown at qb could spell trouble for any offensive production.

I can't see Ed O surviving if LSU wins only 7 or 8 games. Those fans are hungry for a return to the top.

I don't think it's a priority ATM with LSU. Until changes are made, this will be the perception.

If LSU wins 7+ games Orgeron will be back.

The front seven should be the best since 2011. There are a ton of future NFL players on that side of the ball.

I have zero confidence the offense will be any different than what everyone knows LSU for. I think Burrow is going to be good but the offensive line is suspect and there is no difference maker at running back to take pressure off the passing game.

I've gone back and forth with my prediction on the season. The past 10 days or so have not helped. I can easily see us losing 6-7 games as our schedule is by far the toughest in the country.

I expect the Defense to be the best under Dave Aranda. Front 7 will be dramatically better from last year, had no depth with injuries and players not eligible.

The offense, as always, will be the question mark.

Defense alone will get 7 wins, so what is the offense going to look like and how efficient can they be?

I’m rooting for 6-6 because that rids us of this awful Alleva/O funk covering the walls of the athletic department. LSU is a Fortune 500 company being run by the old lady that runs the sewing shop in Bunkee who lets her granddaughter work the cash register sometimes.

Maybe.

It's the LB periphery that I'm worried about.

Oh... I opened this thread expecting it to be some sort of justification for hiring Ed O.

Yeah they should be really good, but you can't overlook Auburn's or MSU D lines either both will be nasty. I seen directly with Alabama at some point your offense has to stay on field. Even with our depth and arguably having one the better defenses over last few years our defense still wore down against better offenses.

I bookmarked my own post yesterday when I said LSU's defense would be top 5 in the country. I'll come back and eat crow if they're not. Worse case scenario- still top 10 at least.

Pretty much everything you said is spot on.

I think Clyde Edwards-Helaire and Curry will be better than people are expecting, but they won't be a Fournette-Guice type 1-2 punch.

Burrow will be better than any QB we've had since Mettenberger. I feel very strongly about that.

I expect the offense to struggle here and there but to still be an improvement over recent years. The defense will in all likelihood be the best it has been since 2011.

The schedule is very tough, but I think this team can come out on top in a few of the tougher challenges and avoid any big upsets. 9-10 wins seems reasonable to me, even with the brutal schedule.
