quote:. Yeah right. LSU could hire Chip Kelly as OC and Peyton Manning as QBs coach and we'd still go in on Saturdays with a 1979 Michigan gameplan.
need a new OC first. LSU needs a fresh offense, the stuff they're using now just isn't going to cut it.

TN, Nebraska, Miami, Texas, PSU (they tried for 10 years to fire Joe PA), Auburn, Wisconsin (the fans ran off BB to Arky) and some others.
TN- Not historically dominate. Phat Phil was a great coach with great talent from 1993-1999, but was extremely mediocre after that. I really don't see how people can say he shouldn't have been fired. It was time for Tennessee to look elsewhere.
Nebraska- Not even relative to LSU due to the recruiting culture. Nebraska fell victim to the parody that is college football. Much like Wichita State in college baseball
Miami - Sanctions, not relative
Texas - Good example and the most comparable situation. I still think Texas gets it right, but they are really paying for it now. They sold out for the guy they wanted and couldn't get him. Tough to have a plan B when there weren't many plan A's available in the first place.
Penn St - Sanctions and a coach who covered up extended sexual harassment of minors. Definitely not relative.
Auburn - ?
Wisconsin - ?
Not really sure what your point is. Is firing Les Miles the answer? I don't know and don't think it will happen. Is change necessary? Obviously, but your comparisons are pretty faulty.

Which is the situation for every Power 5 program hiring a coach this offseason. A ton of jobs, but only one Fuente.

You guys will NEVER believe it, but Tubs resigned (Mutual agreement if you will), but he was NOT fired.

Only delusional Auburn fans believe that Auburn paid Tuberville $5.1M that they didn't have to because it was the "right thing to do".

I'm sure LSU fans are thinking......it isn't going to happen to us because we are LSU. We are that great.

If it's just a blind coaching search then I agree unless we lose out, but if Jimbo says he'll come I think you have to do it unless we win both these last 2 games and look
good doing it

LSU better off keeping Lies Miles unless they are prety sure they can put together a Coaching staff to beat Saban.
I don't see Jimbo Fisher leaving his nest on the ground at FSU.

Things that will happen before Jimbo Fisher comes to LSU:
1) Santa Claus will be proven to be real
2) Jim Morrison will be found alive and living in South Africa
3)Tupac Shakur really will be found to be in witness protection.
4) Minnesota will win its first NC since the early 1960's
5) Jerry Sandusky gets paroled
Please give up on this pipe dream that Jimbo will return to Baton Rouge. The buyout at FSU is probably ridiculous and the salary will be somewhere around 6.5-7.5 million a year before add-ons.

I don't think it's as likely as some, but I also don't think it's as crazy as you might think and no he doesn't have a buyout

why so Les can hand him the trilogy of Miles' past play book and not run the new OC's plays...this is what happened to cam's playbook...has Miles all over it
Everyone says this, but if you actually watch LSU's offense, it really does change when the OC's are replaced (the shortside option stopped being called after Crowton was fired, etc.).

You should make another thread about this...
Srsly tho...board is lame tonight. And I'm sorry about LSU. Sucks, dude.

LOL no. and it's stupid to compare other programs.
Miles isn't just losing to Alabama.. He is dropping multiple games a season and often NOT EVEN COMPETITIVE in those losses.
LSU is also struggling against inferior opponents now, so almost every win is a constant struggle.. It's becoming taxing.
And on top of all of that.. LSU isn't even winning bowl games any more
Miles is 2-4 in the last 6 bowl games and our last bowl win was an ugly 21-14 win over Iowa.
It's absolutely moronic to bring up any of those schools who actually have more tradition than LSU.. but the thing is LSU has far more talent and no competing in state schools for the talent.. so LSU often wins on talent alone.
LSU will be at worst no worse off than the current trend.
LSU is not a power program right now..
