admittedly, the only time I've seen him play was against UF.
he was not very good, you're right though, not a great sample size.
He had 6 easy catches that our WRs dropped. 5 of which would've been big third down conversions and the 6th was Beckham's fumble. Mett isn't even close to the problem right now.

yea, our WRs and OL gave him plenty of help and he just kept fricking LSU over.

I don't know what it's going to take honestly. Listening to Les' press conference yesterday didn't help things either. He really believes that it's not the play calling or scheme but rather it's the player's execution. Now, it's a combination of both but he has to see that he has to try something. I'll give you an example:
Mett's footwork coming from under center isn't too great. It's like he's in quicksand sometimes. That's where most of the sacks have come from because he's not getting his head around to read the corner. Mett out of the shotgun is a completely different story because that's what he's done most of his life and that's where he's comfortable. Out of the shotgun he's been sacked 2 times. It's also the formation he's made just about everyone of his big throws throughout the season. So logic would tell most people to put him in the shotgun 90% of the time with 1 or 2 backs and let him work. Sadly though, logic has never been Les' strong suit.
Yeah it's a mess. I really thought you guys would have a normal offense this year. It was also shaping up to be one of the few times I could pull for you in most games. Like last years team would have literally been the best team ever (in terms of competition) but failed due to lack of offensive consistency. As flustered as I am about our team, I would be even more so with yours because the NC talent is literally there.

Yep The worst part is WR's usually don't just all of a sudden get better in mid season and the OL is wracked with injuries. I don't know what CLM is going to do. Hopefully the O can do enough and the D can bail us out.

I'm not sure it's the gameplan.
I think it's the personnel.
Bad QB, a really struggling offensive line, no difference makers at WR.

Unless LSU finds an answer on offense, I see this game pretty much the was Spurrier diagnosed it: LSU has no offense and SC does. The 2 defenses are comparable. Advantage SC.
My game plan for LSU:
1. You have big RB's use them to chip Clowney/DE's hard while they are engaged with your OL. Mett throws a quick pass to the same RB who just chipped Clowney.
2. Do the same thing with your TE on the other side when the LB's compensate to cover the RB.
3. SC will crowd the LOS and bump and run your receivers. Throw quickly to those receivers to incur pass interference penalties. Mett is plenty tall enough to do this especially out of the gun/pistol.
4. Those same receivers should do a spin move off the DB after engaging them and receive a pass as soon as they separate. This requires accurate passing but it will frustrate a defense. And all it takes is one stumble by a DB missing a bump to create a bigger play.
5. Run right at Clowney. He's literally a light weight in terms of weight for a DE. Put a big TE or extra lineman on that side and run right over him with your big backs. It will at least prevent his swift pursuit on your QB from the back side.
6. All these plays to the outside will catch their MLB moving outside at least on some plays to help out. This is when you run a dive or a well timed draw-play right up the gut.
7. Basically, look at Boise State's offense. Note how they create numbers at the point of attack with motion. Then when the defense compensates to increase their numbers at the apparent point of attack, Boise counters with a play on the opposite side.
8. Also, Mett is tall and can throw over the LOS. If you have some tall receivers, use them against their shorter DB's on quick slants and such. Throw the ball up high on come-backs and it will be near impossible for a shorter DB to defend if the ball is thrown accurately.
We can't do these kind of plays because Murray isn't tall enough to make the throws; Mett is. Good luck.

There is very little hope LSU's offense makes big strides mid season. Best hope is for a new (or actual) OC next year and we roll then. The talent is there, but Miles just won't establish the pass.

Les - what exactly is it you do here?

I think LSU beats SC....SC usually has a meltdown mid season and playing in TS at night after an LSU loss is gonna be the start. Geaux Tigers

I hope you are right but unless LSU can come up with some offense, I don't see it happening.

I can look at a box score and see that you've scored 18 points in 2 games of SEC play.
1 of those games coming against the worst team in the SEC.

Do LSU fans not get tired of having such poor offensive performance
No dipshit, we love watching our anemic offense not be able to move the ball.
And this coming from a Ark fan? I'd say you should worry about your own team, not our fans.

According to box scores Idaho and North Texas each has an offense equal to UF and Towson's is better than UFs.
It's either that or we have:
garbage. defensive. personnel.
