here's a tip to LSU fans: get out of it while you can. SEC schedule is already tough as is.

It's so easy for the rest of you SECers to say man up when you don't play the best from both the East and West EVERY F@CKING YEAR!

The series with Florida will/should never go away.
Every year you can count on that game being cut throat and down to the wire.

I'll bet you a dollar to a doughnut that '14 is also a bridge schedule. SEC league office will not be able to come up with permenant schedule for SEC Network in '14 season.
LSU gets UF, UGA and USC. bama gets UT, KY and whoever has the other worst SEC record in '13.
From your lips . . .

Now LSU and Florida — especially LSU — want to throw all of that logic out the window and do away with permanent rivals and the league’s tradition altogether.
I love the big games LSU plays and have no problem with it. The problem I do have is the big bully on the block pickin on the little kids.
If anybody needs to man up in this discussion it is BAMA. Their schedule this year is so weak that even if they go undefeated this year they may not qualify for the NCG. If OSU and another quality team goes undefeated this year as well BAMA will not make it.

Bama, Georgia and Florida have slightly better talent bases than LSU whether people on this board will admit that or not, especially with A&M in the SEC now. Just go back and look at the recruiting rankings over the last 8 yrs.
It's the reason why Saban left LSU and then resurfaced at bama 2 yrs later. Because the best players are in Georgia and florida and it's really difficult to consistently get the best players in the country to leave home to go to a school no matter how great your program is.
But the problem is not about not wanting to play permanent opponents. It's the fact that those pairings are preventing the schedules from ever being fair as a whole, because the rotations are not happening enough.
A nine game schedule could make things better, but people at LSU are also smart enough to know that florida has more talent than any state in the nation. Period. So if LSU has to play them every year other teams in the west should have to play them at least every two years. To say otherwise is just asinine.
No one wants to listen to all that hype about bama when they usually don't even play two of the four best teams in the conference. They obviously would prefer to just beat up on Tennessee and that is really shameless.

I have never heard a Bama fan complain that their permanent opponent is historically the second most successful team in the entire conference (never heard a UT fan complain that their permanent opponent is historically the most successful team in the entire nation).

History does not reflect current talent bases. There are a lot of things in history that will NEVER be the case again.
Tennessee and Kentucky don't have the population numbers to ever provide a consistently strong talent base. I'm not knocking those programs, but that's just a fact.
If Bama would switch their permanent opponent to Georgia while Auburn plays Tennessee, then the schedules would make a lot more sense.

Why don't Alabama and Tennessee schedule non-conference games with each other during years when a fair SEC schedule doesn't have them? If its that important to you...
Auburn and Georgia too...

Permanent opponents in opposite divisions are fricking stupid. That's what divisions are for. You play them every year. Why do you have to have a permanent opponent from the other division? It makes no sense.
