Lol.

The only legitimate criticism you have is RB and WR inexperience. OL will be better, and the QB will be better. Burrow make any inexperience by our overall more talented receiving group negligible. So, we'll just beat you in the air this year is the only difference. Also, you must not have heard of Chaisson. Think sophomore Key--you got the lazy Key last year.

And do you know how I know you don't know what you're talking about? We're not trotting out Connor Culp this year. We've got the best kicker in DII Cole Tracy transferred to us to put you away...again.

Well, in the SEC west (let's forget about the rest of the country for the moment), AU was ranked higher in scoring defense, against a tougher schedule, and returns more starters on defense.

So LSU is likely not even the best in their own division, much less the country.

For crying out loud can we at least play a few games first.

How is this different than all of the Heisman discussion, post season predictions, polls, etc.?

The jury is still out here. The OL SHOULD be better, but some of the little bit we got to see of this unit during the Spring and Summer was not all that impressive. I'm confident that we'll be better at QB, but nobody knows whether the improvement will be marginal or substantial.

Now, the defense is going to be spectacular. With the quality defenses in the SEC, I would never say that LSU will be the best "and it isn't close," but this defense will be the best that LSU has fielded since 2011.

No they aren't.....and it's not even close. This team will win 8 games IF it gets some breaks. O is the coach, a castoff qb that couldn't win a backup job, a defense with no muscle on the front, DB's that don't really give effort until they play for money. LSU is in for a long season. Shreveport if they are lucky. They could miss a bowl even given how easy it is to make one nowadays.

LSU's defense will rip out souls and make people cry. Not even a shrimp boat captain can screw that up.

If this wasn't coming from you, I would pass this off as a troll. You might have a lower IQ than Jacknola.

1. Baker fricking Mayfield
2. I would take LSU's front 7 over anyone in the country sans Clemson.

So the guy who actually won the game for you last year was beat out by a guy who's never attempted a kick at the Division 1 level? That's reassuring.

Good thing there's no way we could have possibly improved from last year. Go ahead and mark us down for the loss. I'm sure you're sterling record at Jordan-Hare will make all the difference.

Have to have a competent offense to compliment them. You can't just continually rely on your Defense as it will come back to bite you eventually. If we have a Top 60 offense, I like our chances in a lot of games.

Agree completely. I'm not saying this will be the best defense, close or not. It may turn out that way, and I say it has a great shot to do so. But my homerism does not extend so far. I will say, however, that it'll be one of the best with confidence, and our best since '11.

nick saban defensive coordinator and ed orgeron defensive line coach and dave aranda linebackers coach and will muschamp secondary coach couldn't make the LSU defensive roster this year the top defense in the country.

1) Culp was clutch about twice that I can think of last year. He missed multiple extra points and simply isn't any kind of consistent. We went back and forth between him and Gonsoulin. We need Cole.
2) They're kickers, not QB's. The air is his competition. He's proven to be able to kick in games. What more can you ask for?

Same?

You're one to talk about records at others' stadiums, Mr. literally-hasn't-won-at-Death-Valley-since-last-century.

Hey, this is of course good trash talk. But you, Bama, and Georgia will be our toughest games, with Miami right behind. We may not win. But we'll be better than you think. Don't forget last year when everyone assumed who would win...

The offense? We'll see, though it's trending up finally.

Honest question, what is this based on?

You haven’t seen the QB take a snap. You lost a 2nd round RB and WR. There wasn’t an influx of talent on the offensive line. What elements are there to the offense to make you say it’s “trending up” prior to a snap being taken? If you’d said “I hope it’s better” then I could get on board with that. How a notoriously anemic offense is “trending up” in August though, that befuddles me.

What's your point? Good teams have bad games. That team only had one bad game and it came at the worst time.

This.
Top 5 skill players from last year are gone.
The first year with a new offensive system.
A QB with no real experience, playing against much better defenses than he ever faced previously.
Seemingly talented (and big) WR, but with very little experience.
RBs that couldn't get on the field last year.
Good TE though.
