Eh.. if Tennessee can’t handle business against LSU, gritty or not, VOLS have next to no chance in Omaha.

Trust me, I’m sure many opponents of Fresno State in 2008 or Stony Brook in 2012 said the exact same thing.

Regular season means nothing now. If you can make it past regionals, you’re either: a.) a bonafide good team that earned it as expected, or b.) a team that’s hot enough to be just as good as the teams in the former, because you just battled your way past 3 other teams in double elimination format.

Super Regionals are different for every program, including and especially for the teams that don’t have as much history being in them or hosting them

LSU takes game 1 and gives me hope.

Tenn takes the next 2 to take that hope away and we hire Bianco.

Yes, I am a pessimistic

We were playing our 5th game in 4 days. UT isn't going to be facing a johnn wholestaff with a combination of the bottom of the bullpen and guys who had just pitched like Oregon did last night. The previous day, a long-relief pitcher threw 6 innings of 3 hit baseball against them

He made terrible pitching decisions in that final game that worked out.

Eh, there was really only one I didn't care for. But he really didn't have a ton of options with the arms we had left to throw.

anything can happen in a 3 game series. Mississippi State, a national seed and super regional host, got their asses kicked by a Missouri team who finished with 8 SEC wins and a 15-36 overall record. A&M, the 13th place in the SEC, beat Ole Miss 2/3. Baseball is a funny sport like that sometimes.

Why would the Vols be nervous about a team that got lucky to get in and that lasted 1 day in the SEC tourney?

Because Kent State 2014, Michigan 2019, Fresno St 2008, Southern Miss 2009, Stony Brook 2012, UC Santa Barbara 2016, Washington 2018, etc.

Regular season means basically nothing at this point in the season. A team can get hot for a couple weeks in June and do plenty of damage. We've been on the other side of that multiple times.

You seem like. Reasonable and logical LSU which form the last couple days I have seen those are few and far in between. Any team has a fighting chance for sure especially LSU. But let’s not act like this is the same LSU team of the past. I have a feeling if y’all’s coach wouldn’t have announced he’s retiring at seasons end y’all wouldn’t have gotten in. The committee wanted to send a legend out and give him one last chance. Having a 12-17 conference record and day exit from SEC tourney is hardly enough to deserve a chance.

LSU was 13-17 in the SEC and had ~25 RPI. They weren't even one of the last 5 in. Several at-large teams got bids with worse resumes than LSU had. It being far below program expectations is a little different than the committee doing LSU a favor by giving them a bid due to Mainier's pending retirement. Every publication had LSU in before selection day, despite how the season went, and before Mainieri announced he was retiring.

When did I do that? Any team that wins a regional is capable of winning 2/3 games in a super regional.

I agree. Winning a regional is an accomplishment with in itself. Y’all region was not nearly as stacked as the Knoxville regional, Gainesville or Fayetteville. Nebraska got screwed every which way but right. And most talking heads said Knoxville was the toughest regional. So what respect do we get for going 3-0?

Well maybe because LSU has done this year in and year out and even with an below average team by LSU standards, a hot team with baseball pedigree has a chance. Lets be honest anyone born after 1990 in Tennessee is just finding out that Tennessee has a baseball team.

Why do you think Tennessee isn't getting any respect? And what does that have to do with the notion that anything can happen in a best of 3 series? Tennessee wouldn't the first, nor would the be the last, if they were upset this weekend. Tennessee is clearly the favorite, but that doesn't also mean it's impossible for LSU to win, which is all I'm saying. That's why they play the games

By simply reading some of your fans comments about sweeping UT, and how LSU will beat our a$$. I expect a good tight series. Wouldn’t surprise me at all if it went all 3 games and wouldn’t surprise me if it went 2 And done.

TennisE wins gm 1 in walkoff fashion after falling behind by 4 runs in the 8th. Vitello shows his arse again when he spits on Marinara during the postgame shake.

LSU wins game 2 using the motivation of their coach getting spit on and catching pink eye from Vitello's spit after he kissed DVH's arse during the SEC finals.

LSU wins gm 3 cause they are better than Wright St and won't choke down a dick like Serraneaux on a first date.

In the SEC it’s always gonna be a dog fight. Just look at the UT Arkansas series. Either team could have swept each other that weekend with all 3 games coming down to last at bats and decided by 1 run each.
