If they played like they did in the bowl game, OSU would have had a good chance against LSU. LSU's offense doesn't seem built to put up points and make a come back like Arkansas would be able to.

The Alabama team that played against Michigan State wouldn't have much of a problem with the Buckeyes or really anyone else, IMO.

The difference is, you don't see many Alabama fans making excuses for losing to USCe, and belly-aching about not playing Florida State, or tOSU, because they "would have won by 3 TDs."

Then you have not seen the number of times we came back in the 4th quarter during the Miles era.

lsu fans are dilusional...you've had a good run for the past 7-8 years but you're not the elite team you think you are...you're no where close to bama, uscw, oklahoma, nebraska, texas, tosu, or hell even fla st for that matter. those teams have finished on top for decades running....you've had a few good years in this decade which has been somewhat impressive however you are no where near the elite team those aformentioned teams are...so stfu

If winning 2 BCS championships in 5 years doesn't make you elite what does?

LSU did fall behind A&M by 10 points before making adjustments and scoring 41 points.

The same Alabama team that LSU pounded for 225 rushing yards and actually managed to pass for 208 against?

To say that Alabama stood a better chance of beating Ohio State than LSU contradicts the Piggie logic that says if we beat you and we couldn't beat them....then you couldn't beat them either.

NO SEC team would have beat OSU by 3 TDs . Tressel done went out and got him some stud lineman.

OSU always has quality D-lineman and linebackers. They are the only team I can think of outside the SEC that compares in speed on the D-line.

Block O.

I'm not saying a LSU/Bama couldn't beat OSU. If you give a team a month to prepare anything can happen. But saying a team that lost to Arky, and a team that needed a game ending interception against arky, could beat OSU by 3tds is laughable.

How can Ohio State be a top 10 team year in and year out but can't been an SEC game in a bowl game?

You do realize it was the NC's that we lost to, right? As in the best team in the country. It's not like OSU's losing to average SEC teams. You also realize OSU is now 6-3 in BCS games with a NC, don't you?

We're not saying you could not. The OP said LSU would win by 3 TDs.

Personally, I think tOSU would beat LSU, 3 of 5. I also think Alabama would beat LSU, 4 of 5. I think Alabama would have beat tOSU, 4 of 5, within the same year.

What about LSU vs. Ohio State? You argue the importance of trends and rule out trends? Dammit man!

LSU is 1-1-1 all time against Ohio State. 3 games against them in 117 seasons of college football. Exactly what LSU - Ohio State "trend" could you possibly be referring to?

You're the one who has been picking and choosing the time periods/coaches to make an argument for LSU being dominant, year in and out, not me.

And you guys DID have those two broken coverages against us. If our mistake happened, so did yours.

Sorry I didn't realize that the 1978 Sugar Bowl, the 1990 Hall of Fame Bowl vs. Auburn, the 1993 Citrus Bowl vs. Georgia, the 1995 Citrus Bowl vs. Alabama, the 1996 Citrus bowl vs. Tennessee and 2001 and 2002 Outback Bowls vs. South Carolina were also national championship games.

Our biggest problem with OSU is something that probably every other SEC school would have had. Judging by their games up until that point, they looked to have a defense that did really well against the run, played solid in the secondary, and had a mediocre to bad pass rush. The team that showed up played mediocre zone coverage but absolutely dominated us on the DLine. We weren't pushed around like that all year long, not by Auburn, not by Alabama, and not by LSU. They were getting sacks and pressure off just flat out speed and size.

Once our defense stopped trying to make big plays happen and just tackled better, we stopped them cold on offense. Our offense though just couldn't handle their pass rush. Even with that, we very nearly (yea, I know...horseshoes and hand grenades...) had an epic comeback.

What in the hell does that have to do with LSUs "dominance"?

You obviously haven't been paying attention for the last decade that we have beaten Alabama 8 out of 11 and the worst 2 teams in that time frame (2008 and 2009) gave far better Alabama teams a tough time including our 2008 that finished the regular season 7-5 taking a 10-0 Bama team to overtime.
