I'll be interested to see what the penalties are for football.

Ole Miss had like 15 Level I violations and 21 overall and only got like a two year bowl ban, probation, and lost scholarships.

Did OM appeal the initial allegations down to reduce those Level I's down from the 15 violations?

I'd think the appeals process could cut the violations at least by half and that's what LSU's Admin & attorney's need to be focused on right now IMO. Appeal this down, and do everything in their power to eliminate the LOIC & Failure to Monitor charges.

Surely LSU is allowed to present a defense in and effort to reduce the Level I's and eliminate the LOIC & FTM charges. After that the NCAA's ruling would the final and no appeals allowed. But LSU should be able to build a defense case & rebut the allegations in the NOA so as to reduce the severity.

The way I remember it, it came out that cam's dad received cash or at least his church did. Cam had no knowledge of it so he was off the hook.

hahaha. I think even Coach O said that. Between Coach O and Will Wade, Louisiana has to be dumbest state in the country. All Mississippians say " Thank God for Louisiana.

Yes. That is the "story" that came our and probably what happened. It's a long jump from word on the street to having the proof on the desk of an NCAA enforcement agent.

There were a lot of go betweens involved. Some guy Kenny Rodgers claiming to be representing the Newtons. I think they had proof the dad was involved with Rogers (but no proof Cam knew) in asking for money but never proof they got the money. That was the sticking point. No proof of the money exchanging hands AND no proof Cam knew there was a request made. I'm sure if the FBI was involved in digging through the Newton Church financial records, they may have found something but the NCAA did not have a subpoena or a wiretap.

That's all fine and dandy and there is no direct link between vadal alexander and money his father was given in a MONEY LAUNDERING scheme and the one running the operation went to prison for.

Hey RT1941, with the new process there is NO APPEAL. What once was is no more. If it is a simple case, NCAA handles it, If not, it gets referred to the executioner committee they recently established.

They're allowed to submit a reply to the NOA, but once they do and and penalties are levied there is no appeal.
