Even if that happens, they will still be ranked behind 2 teams that won't have a single win over a ranked team.... SMH. ( Clemson and bama)

Who cares about rankings this early

That will be mid season

But they will lose to both of those teams so it won't really matter in the end.

The good thing for us is if we do that then beat #1, we’ll jump #2.

I’m sorry, remind me what last year’s national champion was ranked going into the playoff?

LSU has nothing to worry about.
You win, you’re in. Period.
Relax and enjoy the victory.

Good news: if you beat those two teams you’ll either be 1 or 2 and it won’t matter. Clemson has a red carpet to the playoff, so you just need to be one of the final 3.
Bad news: No one is beating Bama

Get off the Rant with that type of common sense thinking.

It doesn’t matter
They play #1 in November and IF they beat Alabama, they’ll have Georgia again.
Stop complaining

The number you need to be focused on is 8.

Actually they would be eventually be ranked #1 in the only rankings that matter; the CFP Committee rankings.
The committee has done a great job of keeping preseason bias out of their rankings, and I believe them when they say the start from scratch each week instead of just adjusting last week’s list.

Orgeron's thoughts on Auburn and the rest of the teams OP mentioned...
ETA: This probably deserved its own thread. As a gift to Auburn.

You aren't beating UGA.

LSU gets Georgia at home.
Very likely LSU wins.

Maybe the polls would put you #1. Who cares

Yet you’re using Miami’s and AU’s preseason rankings.
