For the LSU fans who were making fun of A&M men’s tennis yesterday for spending on transfer targets.. LSU making even more shady moves.

It brings up a good point especially for Tennis, 90% of the folks are not from the USA. Not sure the value they bring to the Universities.

Yeah, the Texas vs Virginia national title match had only 2 Americans among the 12 singles starters. 1 for each team

Hard to feign that college athletics is about giving young men and women an opportunity to play sports while pursuing a degree when we keep on seeing schools just go grab the pro reject adults of Europe.

This goes to how I feel about where college basketball is headed. Mark Pope was recruiting guys from Europe and Israel and what not this offseason. I do not give a frick about a roster of overseas former pros coming here to get paid to fill out our rosters.
Have we had guys like that? Sure. We all have. Lukasz Orbzut from Poland comes to mind for UK.
But he came here and played four years. And it was one guy on the roster.
You've got Duke with their Amazon advertising deal that will have them advertised overseas on multiple platforms, all in the name of increasing brand recognition and recruiting reach.
That's simply a product I'm not interested in watching. It was a huge reason why I lost interest in, and ultimately quit watching entirely, the NBA in the early 00s.
College football.....at least that sport is American. And the day will come where they have expanded the market overseas enough (look at all NFL early morning Sunday games overseas, now we see colleges doing likewise.) that it'll be a bunch of international mercenaries at the college level too.
