I find minorities who cream themselves over shitty spicy food to be odd.

"Cultural fit" is the most vacuous and irrelevant criteria to predict success. Football is football and it takes the same skills to win everywhere. A good coach CREATES the only kind of culture that matters.

Y’all keep posting this, but it’s still not true

You are correct. There was significant context with the highest winning percentage other than saban.

quote:

Kelly is the winningest active coach in NCAA Football (all divisions)*. He is the only coach to win The Home Depot Coach of the Year Award (2009, 2012 and 2018) on more than one occasion. Kelly is the second-winningest coach in school history*.

His .743 winning percentage trails only Nick Saban among active FBS coaches with at least 15 years of head coaching experience*.

The asterisk dictates they are including his 21 vacated wins.

When the first three posts of the thread are Gator, Aggie and Bama fans saying it's a bad fit, it's a great hire. #TFear...

This makes more sense. I know Fickell, Smart, Riley and probably a few others in the 5-10 year range are higher.

It’s an impressive stat but the context is important. He’s an excellent coach.

LSU fans have told me since the Jimbo hire that wins don't matter unless you win the big one, so no, win % doesn't matter.

Gonna be great to start seeing the comparisons to Ed O's Top 25 winning percentage compared to Kelly after the 2nd season at LSU.

So from that standpoint, Brian Kelly is a more expensive downgrade.

He has proven that he will win the majority of your unranked match-ups at an elite level. That we know but that is all we know about Kelly. Better hope the differential is purely about talent. And that would mean, he better have Top 5 classes every year or you are screwed.
