Chavis carried Miles.

We all saw it coming except you. Chavis was the LSU scapegoat. You even invented the 3rd and Chavis myth to rationalize Miles (and Cam's) shortcomings. But the truth is, Chavis is the #1 reason you averaged double digit wins from 09-14. 2 M to have continued success sure sounds a lot cheaper than firing Miles and hoping to sign a HC that will build you back up into a contender.

No LSU didn't. Tennessee fans told us that when LSU hired Chavis.

Given how shitty their offense had been over that stretch, I have no idea how they ever questioned that. It was mind bottling.

You know Miles was around before 2008 right?

But I agree Chavis leaving hurt us, but we could have replaced him. We just chose to hire a shitty DC instead.

It's always been true. Replacing a top 5 DC in the game, with a guy who was a bad DC, and an even worse HC is going to have bad results.

And that is why I said "we" always knew. We being everyone, but LSU. They couldn't see past their hate.

Everyone knew Steele was going to be terrible except LSU fans. LSU dbs have always been great, but he has somehow found a way to make them look pedestrian. It looks like his scheme has them totally confused. It will be a quick fix if they make the right hire, but I am baffled as to how they decided on Steele in the first place.

3rd and Chavis is an LSU term, but the concept was along long before he was at LSU.

Ask any Tennessee fan about the "Mustang Package".
