Sankey had his opportunity to "mandate" last THURS. INSTEAD, he chose to do NOTHING and thereby allowed foley to dictate terms to LSU and the rest of the SEC !
LSU offered several options to FL...i.e. play in B.R.,play at a neutral site, tentatively schedule for Sat. nite...any time Sunday or Mon. nite....WHAT did FL "offer" ? What did the SEC suggest ?? NOTHING, that's what !

From Day One, LSU offered Foley 7 different proposals to play the game, date, time and location. Foley rejected them all. J.A. even used the word "begged" to emphasize how much LSU wanted to play. Foley dodged this game, not LSU. Funny how the gator's QB is now healthy for THIS Sat's game. Just a coincidence, right?

There is no way LSU wins out. Both LSU and UF should lose atleast one more game so this game is not very important .

Re a couple of comments about the commish "making LSU play". Finebaum pulled up the League's by laws & all that they relate to is the power the commish has to cancel a game by voiding league contracts between 2 League teams. The last section even states more clearly: "if the 2 teams, along with the commissioner, are not able to reach an amicable solution, the commissioner has the authority to cancel the game". There is nothing there that says he can make a team play anyone.
