They lose and win out, they're in the playoff

They win and either win out or drop just one, they're in the playoff

Conversely, bama is in a do or die. Lose and their season is over and they're all but out of sec title contention. If they win, they must still win out to make it to the playoff

LSU fans, bama being #4 is better for lsu than Alabama, why don't you see that?

Doubtful unless Bama loses another game and LSU still makes the SECCG.

Because they are blinded by hate. They control their own destiny, yet it can only be savored if Bama is ranked dead last in the polls.

Highly doubtful

Possibly, as long as LSU still wins the West.

What if Bama, Clemson, Baylor/TCU/OSU, Ohio St/MSU, and Stanford/ND win out?

2011 set a rematch precedent and the playoff only makes the likelihood of another rematch championship game between two teams greater

If they'd put bama who lost to ole miss, they'd sure as shite put a one loss lsu, whose only loss is to a playoff team...in the playoffs

The rematch was the reason the BCS got the ax. The rest of the conferences will shite a brick if the SEC gets two in the playoff.

Lsu would lose to late in the year. Just like the bcs, if you are going to lose, lose early. Much easier to recover from.

bama currently being number 4 answers your question

Maybe so, but bama's inclusion in the top 4 means they failed. A committee is more likely to give us a rematch then a computer

Don't be ignorant.

The committee knows exactly what they are doing. They rank both teams in the top 4 this week so that next week they drop the loser out and add a new team. That allows them to say, "see, we are fair".

The alternative was leaving Bama out, and the rankings not looking as "fluid".

Despite what people think the committee isn't stupid. They know exactly how to play the media and fans.

Yes and no. If Bama upsets LSU and wins out, Ohio State cannot lose to Michigan State. if tOSU loses to MSU, I don't think the buckeyes fall behind Alabama due to winning the NC last year.

Baylor/TCU still play each other and I don't think the conference plays a championship game and either will not land in front of Bama imo.

If Bama loses to LSU then Bama is obviously done.

LSU otoh could possibly drop a game and still be in it..but it depends on who beats LSU.

This poll will change week to week. this isn't the old BCS or the AP poll where you stay where you are until you lose. If you don't look good or dont feel your schedule is up to snuff, they will move you to where they think you ought to be. You could be number one this week and number 4 next week. You could be 6 this week and number 1 next week. Depending on how you looked and who you beat.

To your point I agree. LSU should fall no further than 4th and deservedly so.

You really believe this, don't you? It had nothing to do with the fact that moving to a playoff would bring in 2 more games of high revenue generation and infinitely more interest as the conversation went from 2 teams to 4-6 teams.
