Alleva said the schools had been talking since Tuesday about the effect the Category 4 storm might have on the game. Subsequently, the SEC office was included in conference calls on Wednesday and Thursday.
"He felt very confident they could play the game," Alleva said, referring to the early conversations. "We had a conference call on Wednesday and they felt confident they could play the game, they might have to move the time a little later. Today it all fell apart."
Alleva said SEC Commissioner Greg Sankey was included on the Wednesday conference call when Florida said it would not move the game out of Gainesville.
"Those words were uttered and there was no argument about it," Alleva said.
The possibility of playing on Monday was not discussed, Alleva said, and 'we would have made it happen."

First, he tried to keep all the trash in the background. He took the high road. But, if you are just going to put crap out and call it journalism... I have no problem with him defending himself.... He was just trying to be classy.

Seriously people, can you not read? Florida didn't even offer Monday as an option in the conference call, but Alleva says LSU would've been ready and made it happen if they would've presented it.

So Alleva presented Sunday as an option but not Monday. But I'm supposed to believe that Alleva would've easily agreed to a Monday game but that he wouldn't present the option to which he would readily agree. Gotcha.
