LSU favored by 16 1/2? Why?

5 returning starters, no Joey and Joe. State will win

Because it’s LSU and Mississippi State

Ok, I will take that bet. You take MSU straight up? How much?

State is young in a lot of places and historically Leach takes a couple of years to get going. State is pretty weak at WR as well, and a starting OL, DT, and CB all transferred out in the offseason. LSU's players are more talented.
That said, I think it's the most likely upset in week 1 and 16 1/2 is way too much.

Because they’re the defending national champs playing a team under a new coach that was only 3-5 in conference last year and is rebuilding even more this year

And they were replaced by top 5 recruiting class. What’s your point?

I see 2 wins on that list so that proves they can win. 37-7? To State? Oooof

that was Mullen’s best coached game of his time here. We won in every aspect of the game and LSU wasn’t terrible.

Does that change the fact they’re the defending national champs? It’s a line, like every one, meant to make Vegas money. Has no bearing on the game, but Vegas is typically right

I can guarantee to you, you don’t want to post Tennessee’s record against ANY SEC team over the last two decades

LSU lost to Troy at home that year

Because Miss State lost half their starters and sucked before that happened.
In 2018 LSU returned 10 starters and Miss State returned 17 a 9-4 team including 3 first rounders. We beat them 19-3.

I'm an Ole Miss fan so definitely not my heart. Costello is the best year 1 QB Leach has ever had and LSU has so much inexperience. If this game were week 6-7, then maybe LSU wins by a couple of touchdowns.
I'm also not a believer in Myles Brennan and never have been.
