Just watched the after game press conference with Miles and a couple questions/comments.

4 turnovers is what made that game close. Other than that, Lsu had double the yardage of Tenneessee. Yet in his statements towards the end he sounds like he's laying the blame of the close game solely on the players. Going on to say that they're going to hear how raunchy he's going to be towards him come monday. He said several times that it was the players bad play.

Now my question, could this break the team down, knowing that the coaching is as much of it as some bad play at times? I ask, because I don't see how you can put that finish on the players and being thrown under the bus, much like he did to them after the Ole Miss game last year, I would think there would start to be some division.

Ehh, he said other stuff too. He was very meek and apologetic for most of the post-game interviews, and also emotional and just all over the place, because he's been a man under fire for years now. The constant pressure is getting to him.

But he's right that the players made a lot of stupid mistakes. The false starts and penalties (12 against WVU & 9 against UTK) have just got to end, and really, the only way to do that is to get harsher on the players in practice. It is what it is.

Also, Jefferson's mental lapses were inexcusable. No player should have lacked the mental awareness that he seems to lack, much less the freaking QB. No amount of bad coaching can make a player forget the rules of the game that badly.

Also, up until last season or so, LSU RBs hadn't lost a fumble in a couple of years.

Now, they're putting in on the ground at least once per game.

I think Porter was the previous RB coach, and while he caught some grief from LSU fans (who doesn't?) the fumbling started showing up the season after he left.

Not this time

That was D. Peterson who coughed it up.

Now I do get nervous with how Murphy carries the ball. He shouldn't be playing except in garbage time.

I watched the post game interview video, and it's clear that Miles has some sort of mental problem, seriously.

He would go from talking normally, to yelling, to whispering all in one sentence. If he's not gone completely insane, then he's heavily medicated right now. There is something clearly wrong, and it goes beyond mere stupidity.

Here is a USA Today article from 2007 that describes when he had to have emergency brain surgery around Christmas of 2001 after the appearance of a cyst that creating too much cranial pressure.

quote:

"What's Les like on game day or after game day? That's the most-asked question I get," Kathy Miles said. "If something doesn't go well, they're always like, 'Ooh, it must be tough living with him.' No, actually it's not. He's pretty consistent. I have to say I marvel at his ability to go past something that didn't turn out exactly the way they wanted and move forward and control just what he can control and not worry about things he can't. He's really good at looking past."

Miles visited doctors periodically after his surgery to check for any growth. Then he stopped.

"I had it monitored for a couple of years," he said. "Then they said there was no reason to.
Apparently, they're in a lot of people. Some have them in a real bad area. Others, you never even know about them. I'm lucky. We found out about it. If they hadn't removed it, it could've been very serious."

Nah the players were as pissed off as Les was. Kelvin Sheppard has called a players only meeting today to take care of some of the bs we've seen the last two games. He wont allow the team to break down

I think if Dooley had done the smart thing and just let them implode, Les would have had a nervous breakdown. He was on the edge of sanity last night. I'm starting to feel bad for him.

If you watched the game, then you would have seen for yourself that he was right about...although that wasn't the only reason for overall performance....tight end fumbling while trying to stretching out...he wasn't anywhere close to the first down marker, no reason to do that...qb crossing line of scrimmage and then throws the ball...gimme a break, they teach that shite in elementary...SO YES, THE PLAYERS NEED TO STEP UP..BE RESPSONSIBLE FOR YOURSELVES...

Tiger Stadium, 1996 Alabama-LSU game, I saw a young Alabama fan/student from New Orleans have her head split open from a thrown pint bottle. The LSU fan who threw it was a woman. When security approached her to escort her down the stadium steps they were 'booed' but she was applauded by the entire section of the stadium. Absolutely the worst display by a fanbase I have ever witnessed.

Could you post the video from Bryant Denny in 2007 at the end of the Alabama/Georgia game? I remember the Georgia players getting things thrown at them from your fanbase.

Inexcusable. But no worse than when your fanbase attacked and pelted the UT team bus with bottles in 05.

Agreed. But you are always saying that our fans are the worst and you are always throwing stones at our fanbase in nearly every post. But be careful when you live in a glass house.

LSU has some of the greatest fans in all of sport, but they also celebrate idiocy and stupid behavoir (aka applauding the redneck bitch who threw that bottle at that girl's head). That mentality is what I have a problem with, and you should too.
