LSU fans question about Corey Raymond
Answer: publically and repeatedly claiming Raymond is leaving LSU is now an established recruiting tactic in its second year of use
Teams are making alters to do it on the recruiting/coaching changes boards

LSU style Db's at Auburn? Florida/Texas' best. Auburn would be the new DBU.

To bad LSU cant do anything with all NFL talent. Its really not that big of a gap of NFL players between AU & LSU
Auburn 33 NFL players
LSU 47 NFL players

Your DB coach Corey Raymond is one of the guys being brought up as a candidate to be the new DB coach at Auburn. Do you think he would leave LSU? And how do you feel about him as a coach/recruiter?
He leaves to be DC... he's not leaving his alumni to be a DB coach elsewhere.

CR's name is being thrown out there to make recruits think he's leaving the same thing was used last year Florida kept saying they were getting him to try to steer Kristin Fulton from lsu to Florida.
I member that. Nice job UF!

It's not UF this year - it's UA trying to influence Stevens.

You obviously dont know what youre talking about. The talent at AU has been the best its ever been. The results haven't shown on the field, but i think it has to do with the instability of the staff Gus has put together. Seems like his staff gets plundered of pretty good coaches,it seems, on a yearly basis
Actually you just backed my statement up and made the case for it even stronger. If Auburn is bringing it better players and coaches, why have they not managed to do anything with it?
You can't have it both ways. You haven't shown the results to back the statement up. If you have been getting great players, then your coaches obviously suck (this has been LSUs problem and we fully admit it) because they are not getting the most out of their players. Being there a short time is not an excuse.
Another option (and less likely) is that your players suck but your coaches are great. The coaching staff would basically be making the players look better than they really are, but even great coaching would be hindered by the limitations of the players. I say this is less likely because Auburn is putting a good number of players in the NFL, so it's less likely to be a player issue.
Great coaching and great players would give you a higher ceiling than Auburn has achieved lately regardless of how long the coaches stay.

He won't leave for Auburn, he is an LSU alum...this is nothing like Craig leaving Auburn for LSU while being an Auburn alum...having to go to Auburn for four years would make someone more likely to want to leave

Yall keep saying he is an LSU alum. Craig was an AU alum and made the move. Auburn could bring in the guy at top dollar and give him the Co DC title. Not saying ita gonna happen but I think people put too much stock in being an alum. We just lost 2 co dc in the past two seasons that took dc jobs elsewhere. A promotion and top dollar (that AU has shown they will pay) would be pretty enticing. He seems like a great posiion coach and recruiter that AU could really use with McGriff being gone now. I personally think the ceime dog was an excellent coach and hate to see him go. Withat being said, i agree its probably a pipe dream to land the lsu guy. Who knows. Maybe he enjoyed his time with Steele at LSU.
Craig actually had LSU connections and is familiar with the culture. LSU was his first coaching job. He was on Saban's staff at LSU. It's where he first worked with Jimbo as well. So those LSU roots were already well established.

No he is not leaving unless he gets a D.C. job him and his wife both were born about 1 hour from Batin Rouge he played at LSU. I would be schooled to see him leave.

Word is also that he went to Alleva to politic for O to get the job permanently. He was also directly quoted in articles the day of the hire talking about how happy he was.

Posters just make shite up around here now. The SECr is pretty much nothing but troll threads now, most of which are targeted towards LSU. Oh well.

Just my honest opinion .....the current state of LSU football and Coach O trying to circle the wagons and keep the good staff intact which Raymond certainly qualifies as. I doubt O will let him go. He's a great coach and recruiter and an LSU guy! (I know D. Craig ??). I think with whatever staff money Coach O has left he would keep him he's a great coach!
