I understand you were fishing for that gotcha. Unfortunately, nobody can control the weather. They can control the game if it is in fact their intention to get it in, which is what they say they want. Whether you believe that or not is a different discussion.
If I had the choice to turn the hurricane east or have the game moved, I'd change the weather. As that impossible, we are left discussing the things that can be controlled.
look at what I said to the other guy, its not just about finding a place to play it. Clearly you are familiar with teh south Louisiana area. If your town of residence was threatened by a hurricane, would you want to have to travel across the country or worry about your home and family?

That's refreshing, where are you hearing this?
I've seen it discussed a few places, nothing certain but it does seem likely given UF's stance that the game won't be moved.

Nope. The "cone" is NOT the "eye".

or just reschedule or cancel the football game if the storm is bad enough to shut down gainesville. I'm actually quite surprised that people are disagreeing with that.

Prayers for those in the Jacksonville AreaPosted on 10/5/16 at 7:59 am
It's looking more and more like this hurricane is going to hit directly on Jacksonville where I have a lot of family and friends. Y'all take a moment to say a prayer today for everybody up the coast of Florida and Jacksonville in particular. I'm leaving Gainesville tomorrow and headed home to Atlanta for the weekend to try to stay away from the storms.
Y'all stay safe in South Georgia and the coasts of Carolina too. This is a big storm coming.
So Hoss, what is it? You stated you are leaving and heading home to Atlanta, but then begin this long post trolling LSU saying you will be in Gainesville on Saturday

I understand your point, and it's valid. I'm putting your rational explanation up against the official statement of UF. They say they want to play the game, without the qualifying statements you're making. Moving it would assure that happens.
Perhaps they would rather cancel than move and they just don't think that statement would fly if made publicly.

No one is opposed to it being played Sunday/monday which is what LSU did in 2005.

Going back for the game after the storm passes. No point in being on campus for the storm when there's no class and I haven't seen my family in several weeks

I didn't read their statements or anything, just saw all the commotion on here.

Blows my mind that some people don't understand this. The storm is a lot bigger than that cone.

Exactly and I said this in another post just worded differently.
The whole cone is not the eye. Surely that makes sense.
The actual eye is at the bottom of the cone.
Semantics I guess and a whole lotta frickery today.

So, you found the aftermath and the continued issue some folks have because of Katrina a glorious event?

Can Florida guarantee that the lsu bus will be able to go the speed limit every single mile from Tampa to Gainesville with not one single traffic jam?

No, the melt from LSU fans is glorious.
Your melt is due to PTSD from Katrina, even though the circumstances are completely different. Stop bitching about comments on a message board. You're being a pussy.

You couldn't guarantee that 365 days a year.

I don't give a shite where the game is played or at what time. I pray this storm turns and the people of Florida (all other states) are spared any loss of property or life.
Now me being selfish I just hope the game is played this weekend, I want to see my team play.

The melt has nothing to do with Katrina and everything to do with being bitter that they can't have the game moved to Tiger Stadium. 4 inches of rain and isolated gusts of 35 mph wind is not a big deal.
