Why do you factor in the previous 8 games vs bama into a game that will be played by THIS years LSU and bama teams? Just curious of your logic on that one. Also, even with you using that fricked up logic, this is the best offensive team LSU has ever had and bama will have ever faced playing us. This team is completely different from the previous teams that bama had played. We will score, and we will score plenty to be able to win. Our defense has been improving game by game and has looked good vs Auburn. They're healthy as they've been all season and I know aranda has been game planning for bama for a long time and will have us ready. This is going to be a hell of a game that I see LSU winning by a TD late. Something like 45 to 42

Because mentality has almost as big of a factor as talent... and they have broken us. I’m sure the players believe they can beat them but I don’t think I could say the same about our teams the last few years.. also not to mention Bama I feel gets up and more pleasure from beating our arse then any other regular season game. Not to mention if it’s a close game no matter how good or offense has been playing I have way more faith in Saban and his staff to make adjustments then a non x’s and o’s Coach like Orgeron and a 28 (or however young he is up and comer). If you think experience and mentality don’t have a huge factor I don’t know what to tell you. Plus a good portion of the time the past is indicative of the future... if you see us winning by three I’m sorry to inform you that or freshman kicker has the confidence of a middle school girl who just had her first period in the middle of class. If we win it won’t be by a field goal. Dudes got the shakes... kicking is all mentality.. imagine how low his confidence is now, then think about how much lower it will be playing nick Saban in Alabama...

I understand the mental part of the game, however, for you to pretty much guarantee that LSU will be somehow intimidated by bama bc we have lost 8 straight is kinda assuming or guessing what you believe to be the case. I don't think they're worried about that at all and know that we have had our opportunities to win some of those games even with a shitty offense. This team isn't like the past tiger teams, we have a legit offensive attack. They're not gonna be worried about the past and what happened then, they're going into Tuscaloosa to win the game just like bama is. Just because you or some of our fans have that in their heads and let it affect them doesn't mean our team and coaches will. So, I believe they aren't going to let the past influence how they perform on the field in the present. Just my opinion, like you have yours. The only difference is that with your mindset, you've already lost the game, you can win a game of this magnitude with a mentality like that. You have to be confident and block out everything going on around you (much less the outcomes of previous games) and focus on the task at hand and doing your job to the best of your ability, every down. I trust this team and have confidence in them and their abilities. I think LSU wins this game. Geaux Tigers.

Oh without a doubt they get up for this game vs LSU moreso than any other games on their schedule vs their "rivals" lol. They have the LSU game circled every season before it begins I promise you that. Everybody gets up to play LSU and we get everybody's best shot. That's just the way that is, and bama is no different. They will always come to play vs LSU, bc they know they will get their asses beat down if they dont bring it 100%. It's the same for LSU though, we will be super pumped and ready to go. I like our chances I really do.

The plays will get up and excited for two weeks and if Alabama goes up on us I don’t see us coming back. Of course a player has confidence he can beat a team.. wouldn’t be a d1 athlete if he didn’t. But also if you think cade York hasn’t lost every ounce of his confidence I’ll send you my address. I’d love whatever you are smoking. My original post was talking about our delusional fans who are some of the most irrational in sports. You realize someone like you argues this every year and that this is the year we win it all.. it’s literally the running joke on this board. I’m all for positivity. I’m rooting for us to win. But to say I’m confident? That’s just not objectively looking at the facts. We have as good as a chance as we’ve had in 8 years but I’m still not confident.
Also my mindset has nothing to do with winning the game. I’m simply a realist who manages expectations. If we happen to lose, all the positivity of the fan base will simply evaporate. They will look for someone to crucify and pin the loss on. LSU fans project themselves as the most arrogant and confident fans until we lose one game and then it’s like all the fans stopped getting their anti-psychotic medicine

No they don’t... you think Vanderbilt gets up more to play us or Tennessee? You really think we are every schools biggest and most exciting game... that’s such a blanket statement. That’s the arrogance of your typical LSU fan (which I am one) thinking we are gods gift to college football and everyone is privileged to play us... no matter what statement or point you are trying to prove you look ignorant making blanket statement arguments. Its 2019 people go against the grain

Its our best chance to win in a few years, certainly not overly confident but I do like our football team and how we have played to date. We finally have the ability to score multiple touchdowns and hopefully we play up to that ability.
Bama should still be favored but I like our chances. I think Bama fans are much more worried about LSU this year than the previous 8 and for good reason. Bama is a very good football team and so are we it should be a very fun game to watch.

Great comment. I agree completely. I am hopeful but confident would be an overstatement. I also don’t know how I feel about Alabama “being more worried about us this year”. If they’ve been curb stomping us this bad for this long.. I would hate to see them have more motivation then in the past that’s a scary thought

We lost by 21 points that game.. wouldn’t say that was a good shot

They have always had motivation but really don't need it. One of Saban's better qualities is getting his team to play up no matter the opponent or situation.
He has always been open to be beat with 15 plus yard pass plays but you have to have the athletes to do it. This year his DL is not as stout as previous and injuries have taken some of his depth away. We will need to be able to run and throw and I really like our chances. On the negative side he has the best WR core we have faced from them--if we give the QB time we will get beat and often.

Right they are always motivated but you said they were more worried then ever before. Which led me to infer they would be more motivated then ever before.

The past eight years mean nothing in this game.
Any reasonable fan on either side should anticipate a close game. Unless turnovers alter the game dynamic I would anticipate it being decided in the fourth quarter.
There is no praying. Two evenly matched teams will play and one will come out on top.
I like the Tigers chances.

Here’s how I feel:
I feel like we have the best QB in the country.
I feel Alabama will have an incredible defensive game plan.
I feel Alabama had the best WR Corp I’ve ever seen in college.
I feel like Alabama will probably win but I feel like we have more than a punchers chance.
I feel, for the first time in 7 years, like we’re going into the game with a loaded gun. I’m ready brother and I’ll ride with Joe every damn day of the week.

My feeling is at least this year we are brining a real gun to the gun fight and not a dull butter knife.....hard to say we will win in Tuscaloosa....if this game were in BR I'd put the house on LSU to win outright.

Two good teams with good coaches, if the loser finishes with that one loss, both should be in the CFP.
I refuse to to give stupid comments and negative comments like those immature posters on TD.
This is a good site but there are some stupid people on here

We need to play the game like the underdog we are, and come out guns blazing and never let up.
It's no good wishing that our coaches and team will see this as just another game so that we aren't at a disadvantage mentally. The losing streak will be a big factor until it's broken.
Now I will say, in contradiction to that, that I can see the losing streak not being a negative factor for Joe Brady and our offensive game planning. He doesn't have a history with Alabama, and is used to being in the NFL so probably has a different perspective on this. Hopefully he can use that and attack Bama more effectively than we have in recent years.

I feel good. Maybe not a blowout because of the refs, but an LSU win nonetheless.
