Gets a head coaching gig in the next couple of years? Usually these guys strike while the iron is hot and he will get a lot of offers. What is the contingency plan in case he bails for somewhere that he oversees more responsibilities and gets more money?

I'm not nearly as concerned about that as the rest of the SEC is hopeful for it.

I’d say get 2-3 years more of Brady while he continues to learn to be a play caller and QB developer, then he moves on. I’m OK with that.

Dude's ballin....may happen and that's good for him. A system has been buried and a new one born to replace it. We will continue the new system with or without him.

Realistically, Joe Brady needs experience at the college level, and I imagine waaay too smart to just jump at the first gig offered. He's getting paid BIGLY for a job he loves and is in a monster of a situation right here to get better and fine-tune his offense.

Level of cocern: little, for 4-5 years.

Coach O has proven that he is committed to running the spread/rpo, if Brady leaves, I am sure he will look to the NFL for another smart young Coach. I am sure their are more out there, that are smart with great ideas..

What harder to figure out is why some Coaches stay stuck in the mud..

I guess it is tough to trust the unknown..

If it takes a couple more years, I'll be thrilled. By that time, the system will not only be in place, but all the other assistants will have a handle on how to run it.

I have no problem with him leaving after 3 years. If it's only 2 I'll be disappointed.

Because that will mean he kept it rolling after this season

0% he's leaving right now

If Brady has representation that is smart, they will let him grow and develop as a coach rather than jump on the first head coaching opportunity that comes along.

Running a big time program like LSU or Bama or Oklahoma or Ohio St or Clemson etc is not easy. Look at Texas right now with Herman who was the can't miss up and coming genius offensive coach.
The demands of the job can chew you up and spit you out quick if you are not ready.
Look how long Smart stayed with Saban and he still hasn't figured it out being a Georgia legacy.

The credit has to go to LSU. Every move he had made has been to put LSU in the best possible position to compete with the elite in the SEC and nationally. On top of that, O knows LSU and the culture surrounding the program.

Well, if everyone else is chomping at the bit to get him then that means hes doing well here. Comes with the territory. We pulled him out of obscurity and Coach O is well connected enough in the profession to where I trust him to get the right replacement if he does leave.

I do wonder with Ensminger's age and how reluctant he was to be the OC to begin with if we dont give Brady a good contract and have him be OC in waiting and spend a couple more years learning the ropes from E until hes ready to step down but I could be wrong but I don't see him getting a job elsewhere unless the NFL calls him for a full coordinator job, because we'll pay him more than small schools would pay to be a HC.

Either way, my concern is 0. If he leaves, good for him he was a beast here. If he stays here long term then that's great too! Pretty sure we're on top of keeping him here short term for sure at least.

My level of concern is directly correlated to the possible long term health of LSU’s potential to staying ahead of Bama. I’d like y’all to stay ahead of Bama. I want everyone in the conference (with maybe the exception of Florida) to beat Bama. So I’d like y’all to keep your high valued assistants. Not like crying Saban, who whines worse than Dabo when his guys leave the program

I believe he will take over after SE leaves, becoming the highest paid OC in the nation. Then will take over after O retires, I'm giving him, Brady, 5 years then he'll be head coach, and O will become AD at LSU.

I would be surprised if he doesn’t get a coaching gig in the next few years. No concern at all

I've said it before, and I'll say it again: LSU's Athletic Dept has revolutionized the coaching pay-scale.

Gone are the days of Jimmy Sexton's Gazillionaires' seats on Mt. Olympus. The HC, OC, and DC ALL get paid or you end up like Saban, scrambling to replace coordinators every year when Little Sisters of the Poor need a HC or crying when Lane, Kirby and Jimbo poach your staff.

SEC coaches' salary ranges are obsolete, and most of you have such ridiculous contracts and buyouts you are powerless to change it anytime soon.

Just look at O's record vs. Sexton's List (of fail).

Keep up, or STTD.
