Can't believe this thread has gone this long.
Any college football fan that knows anything about anything knows that Saban&Spurrier are the only two SEC coaches that would even be seriously mentioned and considered in this question/discussion.
Les Miles for Dan Mullen?
Les Miles for an unproven Sumlin?
Les Miles for Malzahn? Maybe...but not yet. Let's give it a few more years.
Les Miles for Hugh Freeze?
Les Miles for BB? :lol:

Richt might have been a legitimate contender for a "yes" or "maybe" at one point, but not anymore.
Any college football fan that knows anything about anything knows that Saban&Spurrier are the only two SEC coaches that would even be seriously mentioned and considered in this question/discussion.

I’ll say no because the head coach doesn’t coach or recruit in a vacuum. In other words, he’s so set up at the moment with one of the best staffs in college that I’d fear a replacement couldn’t match that caliber of assistant.
CLM *and* his staff is great, and I wouldn’t replace him with anyone else at this point (well, not anyone outside of Tuscaloosa, of course, as stated by the OP)

Back in 2005, there were a lot of Guys I would have taken over Les Miles (Saban, Rict, Petrino and Spurrier included). Honestly, I'm not sure if I'd ever heard of him before he was hired. I remember OSU being scrappy and winning games they shouldn't have but I doubt I cared to find out who their coach was.
Looking back, I'm glad guys like me and the rest of the Rant don't get to pick head coaches. I'm happy with the run we've had. And I'm happy with our Coach. Theres no one in the league that I'd trade him for today.

The Ole Miss record since 2008 is one of the funnier things posted on here. Yeah let's post a selective time frame in which we've lost as many games as we won against LSU.

Miles has been at LSU for a decade now.
Check back 10 years from now and let's see what Freeze brings to the table. If he has that much success in Oxford he will jump ship at some point
