For Carolina fans thinking this is a windfall for LSU, it is not. USC is the home team, which means they pocket all of the revenue from stadium concessions and ticket sales, with LSU getting reimbursed for expenses. It is beneficial from a financial standpoint for USC to have this game be in Baton Rouge, which should ensure a pretty decent crowd (I have no idea how many they'll be able to get in there on such short notice). I doubt the turnout would be half as good at any of the potential "neutral" sites that were considered. This will help USC to bring in the most revenue possible at this point. LSU lost $3.2 million in revenue when the McNeese game was cancelled, for comparison.

You know what would be awesome?

If people would fricking browse the dozens of threads on this topic to see if possibly the subject has been beaten to death already before they enlighten us with their fresh takes.

Pay Chavis what you owe him off the top. Cover your expenses. Give the rest to USC.

Then, all is right.

Can't. There's a minimum wage law.

IF USC is the home team why is LSU wearing purple?

The more I think about this the more pissed off I get.

And if home field advantage is worth 3 points LSU should spot USC 3 pts.....

Just out of curiosity, what color should LSU be wearing?

LSU rarely wears purple.

It's not the "home" jersey.

Look, I get that you're upset that Mother Nature has screwed this up. But LSU is being accommodating. Show some gratitude.

As the home team, USCe determines what LSU wears.

I'm sure you knew that already though. You seem like such a well informed individual, after all.

Nope. You just get an extra home game in conference. It's cool. No one is stressing about this to the point that all these threads need to be started. LSU was gonna beat USCe in Columbia or BR. Didn't really matter.

LSU will likely have to give up the home game next time USCe rolls onto the schedule. Granted that's not until 2021, I believe.

Well, direct your anger towards Spurrier then. It's his call on whether South Carolina wears white or colored jerseys, and he's decided to wear white.

No, LSU should not have to give up that home game. Home games mean money. It sucks that USC is losing this one, but at least they are getting some money out of it with LSU giving them the gate net of expenses, so USC is losing part of a home game due to an act of God in South Carolina which nobody could help. It makes no sense for LSU to lose an entire home game in 2020 or 2021 when all we did was offer to host their home game for them, sell as many tickets as possible and give them the money. LSU lost out on a home game due to weather earlier this year and still had to pay McNeese their money for the game, all the workers and normal expenses, etc. It sucks, but what can anybody do about it?

Maybe this will prompt the SEC to put aside some money or buy insurance to reimburse schools when a home game is forced to be canceled, moved or otherwise disrupted such that the school loses money.
