They should have stopped him from reaching out to NFL coaches about how certain players looked in camp and if they thought they would be waived or not. They should have stopped him from reaching out to players on NFL preseason rosters to recruit them to LSU and discuss how they could make more at LSU than on an NFL practice squad if they were waived.
You don't think every college coach was doing the same after the 5 for 5 ruling came out? Come on, man.

Which NCAA or SEC rule does that break?
Although I don’t think the last part is true they got cut and waived.

Most of them don’t care. Plain and simple.

The SEC was not a big fan of LSU taking a conference playoff team’s coach before the playoffs. Nor were they a fan of LSU trying to take the same team’s roster. They were not a fan of Will Wade returning. They were not a fan of him bringing in a roster of 22-25 year old foreign players. They were not a fan of Kiffin calling Ole Miss and the state of Mississippi racist. They were not a fan of him waiting until the night before their game to turn in their roster. They were really not a fan of his halftime quip “imagine if we were playing pro players.” They were not a fan of how LSU more than any other school has disregarded rules on storming the field. They definitely were not fans of Kiffin reaching out to NFL coaches inquiring about players on their preseason roster. They definitely were not a fan of Kiffin reaching out to players he thought would get waived and recruiting them to LSU if that happened. All of this is just part of LSU’s attitude of “frick you, we will do what we want and you can’t stop us.” That used to mainly be reflected by the fanbase. But now that attitude has infected the entire institution - Kiffin, Wade, Ausberry, Rousse, Landry.

NFL coaches have only named one college coach who did. Lane Kiffin. If you have proof more did it you should speak up.

LSU didn’t break any rule. They hired a man child in order to win at all costs necessary...
... who still never broke any rules.

And not a single conference rule was broken.

But really, the lack of institutional control is understandable.
Literally nothing has happened so how tf is there a lack of institutional control?
You kick a school out of the conference for a what if and for feelings getting hurt?

What lack of institutional control? Not only did they not play those players, they didn't even put them on the roster. So what rules are being broken? Hurting Stankey's little puss?
