I don't consider it a rivalry in the classic sense, but all I hear on ESPN/CBS/SECN is rivalry game, so it is a rivalry game, like it or not.

After beating LSU three straight times, why would we want to stop anything?

I am really enjoying the intensity of this series now, but when little Nicholas retires Bama will return to being just slightly better than MSU (see 1983-2006).

This is just nonsensical. You can't enjoy losing three in a row. We won a national championship in 1992, something MSU has never whiffed, won three SEC championships and had a winning record against LSU during the same period. Not that our record against LSU really matters. Other than during a brief period in the early 2000s, we have always dominated LSU.

Football was not invented in 2011 sir. Little Nicholas Saban woke the sleeping giant that is LSU football and you will have to learn to accept this. The success Bama is having now will be fleeting just like it was after the "Bear" retired. IMO the 2009-2012 Title run will signal the end of Bama as a CFB power and the emergence of a new SEC and CFB power. The mighty LSU Tigers.

Have a good day sir, tonight will not be pretty.
Your boys are walking into a barroom brawl disguised as a football game. I have no idea who will actually win, but these Tigers are going to play with anger. If you win tonight your team will have to deal with the aftermath of another emotionally and physically draining win that will "LSU Effect" the rest of the season.

God Bless your team and I hope both teams are injury-free. I would advise all woman and children in Al. to be in a safe and secure place tonight.

you want Tide to roll because that is the only way your team looks half way decent.... Anybody that knows football knows it to be a big rivalry... Thats
why it gets the TV ratings that it does.. Face the facts.

We played for a national championship five years after he retired, and won a natty less than ten years later, so: two title games in ten years after Bear died. Acceptable, not great, but acceptable under Alabama standards.

Alabama fans acknowledge this. LSU fans are the group that wants to pretend that there was no college football before 2000.

But this is a "rivalry" thread. After three straight losses to the Tide, let us know when the "mighty LSU Tigers" are ready to begin to "emerge."

Do Bama fans celebrate moral victories now?

The only NC from 1980-2008 (28 years)...Better than OM,Msu, Kentucky and Vandy for sure.

There was plenty football pre-2000, a top 10-15 program by most historians. LSU fans are proud to be the most successful and consistent CFB program since 2000. This century will see the LSU take the mantle of the best program in CFB. When little Nicholas Saban retires you will be just like Michigan and Notre Dame.
Has-Beens.

LSU emerged when little NS woke the giant.
Deal with it.
