Why is Johnson still there? Finishing behind Auburn in basketball this past season should have been grounds for immediate termination.

The situation that Trent walked in (when you take out the first year) was not conductive to long term success. It was a situation where unless you are Roy Williams, Mike Krzyzewski, Bill Self, Rick Barnes, etc., any regular coach would have near similar results.

you mean he did a great job paying this chick 3x's what she was making at UCLA to coach a non-revenue sport , and LSU luckily avoided wasting more money on a sport ppl care even less about when the bama guy stayed in Tuscaloosa

I have no problem paying top dollar for coaches in any LSU sport. I want them all to be successful.

ETA: We just spent like 12 million on the new softball facility. We might as well try to get back to being elite. You gotta pay coaches to do that.

Why do LSU fans dislike him?

i never liked him since he threw the duke lacrosse team under the bus without proof of guilt. turned out they were innocent. i'm not for hiding impropriety, but to assume guilt pissed me off. bet he still does stuff like that; ie. compliance dept. is god, it's their job to fry athletes before their day in court. hope he leaves LSU but would be sorry to see y'all get him.

I'd rather LSU (continue, in some cases) spending money on revenue sports that matter and people care about. The majority of LSU fans don't care ab WBB and SB as evidenced by attendance. Waste of money and resources

When we were good at WBB and had WNBA level players (Augustus, Fowles) fans showed up (may have not been full capacity crowds, but were very good for what they would normally otherwise get), especially for the big games like UConn, Tennessee, Baylor(2006) UGA, etc.

Alleva has been good for the minor sports, and been hands off on football. It's obvious that basketball is his first love, and UT is far more of a basketball school than LSU is or probably ever will be.

He'd be a good hire for the Vols. He wasn't the best fit here, bottom line.

If football and men's basketball aren't doing well, that won't mean a thing.

for 2-3 games, maybe, and LSU was still losing a ton of money. that was w/o paying the HC almost $1M/yr

he played FB and baseball in college, so I don't get this line of thinking other than the fact that he came from Duke.

Not to mention we then had to fire our coach for poking around the lockerroom and hire a completely new staff. So that was just more money down the drain

He's an arse hat. That's all you need to know. Every chance he gets he takes a shot at Miles and LSU in his articles. It's amazing they still let him on campus
