And they are making him take a salary reduction monthly for 2023. Damn it must suck to be as poor as LSU. Lol There is no way Bama would’ve asked Saban to take a pay cut if we overpaid him. It would’ve just been removed from the last year of his contract.

So you would make him take a pay cut the last year of his contract?

I honestly can’t even imagine a scenario where Bama would’ve even told Saban they made the mistake. We would’ve just put it on taxes as a 1 mil bonus.

Why?

Is Bama too arrogant to admit a mistake?

No we just know the value of our coach and wouldn’t even considered asking him to take a monthly salary reduction so we could get the money back from him in 12 months. Lol
This is the trashiest thing I’ve ever heard of. I guess when you have to lay off employees because your school is poor this is what happens.

Actually I do. After the 2008 season when Saban made it to the SEC championship game and lost in his 2nd season we gave him a massive contract extension.

He went from 4.1 million per year to 8.2 million per year.

Announced on Tuesday, Saban's new eight-year, $65 million deal will pay an average of $8.2 million a year -- more than double the pre-inflation adjusted total from that initial 2007 contract.

That has absolutely nothing to do with this situation.

Here you go dumbass.

The state of Florida audit determined that USF overpaid Skip Holtz and other employees. The original audit said the school needed to pay the state back just the amount they overpaid from the state fund. The Auditor General said that was stupid and they just need to do a better job in the future. LSU you are more broke than USF.

USF let Skip Holtz keep his overpayment after he left the school.

Didn’t you just write that this kind of overpayment has never happened before?

Aggy paying Jimbo 1.8 million per win, 450K per quarter in wins or 30K per play in those wins.....

When you break it down to doallrs per play it makes the hurry up offense make more sense!

Says a lot about Kelly that he didn’t bring it to their attention but it had to be uncovered by an audit instead.

I know $1m isn’t as much to him as it is to most, but he knew he got $1m extra and didn’t report it.

I don't make near what Kelly is making but If I were overpaid by what, 10% for the year, I wouldn't know it either. Its a pretty safe bet that folks like Kelly ain't getting a paystub on Friday and while eating a bologne sandwich in the company cafeteria doing the math to make certain they were paid right. Most folks have been there and done that early in the careers but most of us get past that after about age 35 or so....

Presumably coaches are paid via direct deposit...if so the entity depositing money can also withdraw money from an account. It'd be HILARIOUS if there were an automatic mechanism in place in the payroll system where that happened....imagine the trash talking non lsu fans could do about the school or AD reaching into Kelly'swallet and removing money. Finders crossed....

Saban's probably already structured the accounting and payroll offices in such a manner to make that kind of error impossible.

No one in the state of Louisiana has ever been particularly competent with a four-function calculator
