BATON ROUGE - The LSU athletic department laid off employees and announced salary and bonus cuts for coaches, including head football coach Ed Orgeron, on Thursday because of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Orgeron, who is the second highest paid college coach in the country at $8.9 million a year, has voluntarily agreed to have his salary reduced by five percent in 2021 as has LSU athletic director Scott Woodward.

Says a lot about Kelly that he didn’t bring it to their attention but it had to be uncovered by an audit instead.

I know $1m isn’t as much to him as it is to most, but he knew he got $1m extra and didn’t report it.

He saw his chance to recover that cash.

Wow I’m literally distraught and shaking right now after reading that. Gives major Enron vibes.

At least we pay our recruits. Y'all are way closer to Enron than we will ever be.

It's like Aggie and florida fighting it out for pyramid scheme of college football.

What a keystone cop organization…

And they are making him take a salary reduction monthly for 2023. Damn it must suck to be as poor as LSU. Lol There is no way Bama would’ve asked Saban to take a pay cut if we overpaid him. It would’ve just been a bonus or removed from the last year of his contract.
