Matt Daniel ? @athensgaweather @spann Not sure if you heard, but Athens, GA just had a loud "boom" sound and shaking all across campus and east of the city.
Supposedly, something similar has been occurring around the state of Alabama for the past month.

No. There have been several that have supposedly occurred in Alabama. James Spann has been documenting them. If they are legitimate, I'm not sure why it didn't receive the attention the one in Wisconsin received.

It's called coal mining and TNT. There have been a shite ton of old strip mining sights around birmingham that have been reopened and they are blasting daily. I can hear them several times a day where I work. I always look out the window to see if it was someone that has just pulled up in the driveway and closed their car door after getting out.

@spann It was a loud explosive/dynamite from Hanson Aggregates. They confirmed blasting away at the same time. Stronger blast than usual.
