It's just the internet, guy. Just relax. It's not that hard

I'll believe that when I see it. Texas has always gotten whoever they wanted out of that state

Simply not true. While the floor for UTa recruiting isn't as low as A&M's floor is. There has been extended periods of time when A&M outrecruited UTa
Everyone needs to go and check Oklahoma's roster.
They do serious damage in TX. Always have and always will, they have to in order to survive.

That's because Texas has high academic standards and Oklahoma doesn't, IIRC.

There has never been a period of aggie out-recruiting Texas that wasn't immediately followed by major ncaa sanctions for A&M. Not once.

this is going to get good now.

0U has as big or a bigger presence in Dallas and East, Texas as UTa does.
This is true

Yep. They'll fit in just fine.

nah not trying at all. fact is the aggies can't compete with the teams in the west. LSU gave yall a beat down and arky has done it 2 years in a row about to be 3 years in a row.
honestly i wouldn't be against another rentawin joining our schedule and softening up the west a bit.

Yep, that's true. OK State gets a few because of that.
But can you explain VY and his 6 on the IQ and his dream team comments. Was he making the grade at tu?

I had a little twitter conversation just now with Liucci from TexAgs who started this whole clusterfrick today. He acknowledged that A&M has not gotten over the state political hurdle (i.e. dealing with the backlash of people who want to keep the Texas/A&M/Tech/Baylor cluster together for numerous reasons) and, contrary to the opinions of many aggies on this board, Liucci admitted that those forces have a lot of political stroke and will put up one hell of a fight.
This will be veeeeeeeeery interesting.

post the tweets, Drunk
ETA: Luicci doesn't have any tweets saying what Drunk is claiming. In fact, the state Lege is out for over a year and will not call a special session to block this move if it were to happen. A special session meeting costs the state $37,500/day. That's not money willing to be spent in this economy. Besides, Perry is out of state for a while announcing his presidential run

Who would block an A&M move? Texas politicians? Even if SEC invite is there, that's the wild card, isn't it?

Baylor's political stroke is surprising large and will have HUGE s**t-fit about this.

imo the sec should invite smu and mizzou

How about this. Instead of bringing A&M and one other team, how about we just bring A&M and combine Ole Miss and state and keep the SEC at 12 teams. OM and state have sold a combined 90k season tickets, we could be a powerhouse.

i do like the greppin that would happen with the merger.

yeah, they'll have a shite fit. They will be left in the cold. But there's nothing they can do about it. They'll pout in the corner. Throwing a shite fit =/ giving A&M any trouble doing what they want.
The lege has cared in the past. This time around, not so much
