Using your logic, aTm is better than Bama.

All these other teams fanbases are in denial, they don't have 1980 to throw out there all the time at UGA fans, so now they have reverted to the;
"BUT, BUT, BUT BAMMER HAD INJURIES EXCUSE "

Why did you guys lose the SECCG? Answer that one.
Even though this was not Bama's best team the difference in strategy over what UGA had played against all year was huge. It's also why Saban went to a throw first strategy. I was shocked last year when he said defense doesn't always win championships anymore. That's been a saying in Ttown since the early days of the Bryant Era. Kirby is running Bama circa 2012 style. Saban believes that time has past us. I guess we'll see over the 5 years if he's right.

So, yes, by comparison to the field of teams in the league this year, UGA was elite.
So how good was the league, more specifically the West,in '18 and '20 when Bama was beating those teams by an average of 30+ points per game?

What makes 2012 style different than 2021 style?

This years UGA would have been slaughtered by LSU 2019 and many other previous champs as well. You beat an Alabama team missing some of their key offensive pieces in a rebuilding year, was blown out by them when they had all their star offensive players.
2021 UGA is a team full of 5 star talent and a gane managing QB.
The SEC was mediocre this year. UGA will not win anything of significance under Smart again. Screenshot it.

Probably not how it would go. This years uga team was elite on both sides of the ball.

Aren't you the same idiot who said this:

Vol invasion that is going to happen when we challenge for the SEC championship next year. That vaunted UGA defense will be ripence for the picking. Even this year we had wide open recievers running
Your team has been irrelevant going on 23+ plus years and can't even compete for a conference championship.
Why is a UT fan even attempting to troll UGA?

We were a run first team with a game manager QB. And a strong run stopping defense. Sound familiar? Now we have a throw first offense and our defense is built more on pressuring the QB vs stopping the run. We don't have a Jordan Davis/Tarrence Cody type NG anymore (350+lbs).

We were only down because our administration failed time and time again to hire a real coach after Kiffin left.
I am tired of thus board acting like Tennessee isn't relevant. Look how long it took Kirby to get UGA good and he had a lot to work with. Heupal came in to a team missing all of its staters which had one of the worst seasons in our illustrious history.
It's hilarious how this board is all down playing what Heupal did in his first year. He has improved us at warp speed. Just imagine how much better we will be next year. All our offensive key pieces are coming back despite having other options. I dont think you realize how good we will be next year.

I see a lot of comments that had no bearing on the game. Injuries. That’s what decided the game. Congrats to Georgia. They took advantage of the situation like a good team will. But historically great? Please pump the breaks and come back into reality, guys.

UGA fans getting awfully cocky now. I know my football well. Kirby wont win anything of significance after this.

Hello DJS.
UGA was NOT elite on both sides. To be truly elite on offense you need a Joe Burrow / Manning / Newton type of talent at QB.
Also your defense was exposed twice...once by Tennessee....Hooker had an off day because of injured hand missed many wide open TDs....and then against a healthy Bama offense in the SECG.
So many elite teams from past years would blow UGA out. It's not even a debate.

Uga players, many of them freshman and backups, made the plays your players couldn’t make. Imagine how bad it would have been if uga didn’t have so many injuries.

Apparently not true after 2021.

Once in 15 games and we got pay back.

Ummm, how long did it take Kirby?
Year 2 of Kirby (2017) UGA played in the CFB National Championship Game, and was VERY CLOSE to winning a Natty
Fast forward 4 seasons (2021) and Kirby wins a FRACKIN NATTY FOR UGA IN ONLY HIS 6TH SEASON
I'd say your knowledge of CFB IS SLIM when you say "it has taken Kirby a long time".

Kiffen? Your downfall started way before him

It isn't and if it wasn't for a Clint Stoener fumble you'd be looking at Ole Miss territory as far as historical relevance

I have no doubt you'll put up 50+ points vs Missouri again...ya got that going for you.
