At my credit union you can get a 60 month loan for a 2007 vehicle @ 4.25%.
Yep that's your Credit Union... you think Trent Richardson has good enough credit to qualify?
I seriously doubt it. (I doubt any 18-21 year old kid who didn't come from a wealthy family does)
With a down payment from money saved from SSA payments and maybe life insurance payouts, and money coming in from a Pell grant? Absolutely.

I bet 80% of college football athletes have a family (not by relation) that takes care of them. I have several friends who coach highschool football and all the players that they have coached and went on to play college football have an outside family that takes care of them. They come from absolutely nothing and having someone else take care of them is the only way they can make it.

"Yeah, but Cam Newton didn't get pulled over driving a four year old luxury SUV at Auburn."

It still could create the possibility that Trent had a nice little savings account to tap in to
He didn't really know his father until shortly before his death and his father died when he was 15 years old so I highly doubt that even if we accept that he was getting SS checks the death benefit wouldn't be a whole lot and certainly wouldn't have provided a tiny nest egg of savings.
Just use common sense instead of red-herrings.

Or you can just quit digging at something that's not there. But by all means, let this be Auburn's version of ATPB.

Since when do you have to have a relationship with your father to collect Social Security when he dies?

Life insurance? LOL
He was poor, but if it makes you feel better have at it.

Why can't people, when confronted with a situation that they don't know shite about, simply say "I don't know what's going on?"
People defending how he could afford the car and people screaming how he can't afford the car are equally ignorant. Neither of you know.

Show me where I said you did... please.
His father died when he was 15 so that leaves about 2.5 years to collect any SS (again we are assuming that he collected)

1. 36 monthly payments, several hundred dollars a month, enough for a down payment for a vehicle? Easily.
2. Would the credit union or bank consider him to be a good credit risk? Duhhhh...he's gonna be a multi-millionaire in a few months. If he is getting the same interest rate as anyone else, it isn't an extra benefit.

Because you say it's not there?
Nahhh I'll just use rational thought process and common sense.

You're saying that since he didn't know his father, it was unlikely that he was getting SS checks. Otherwise, why even mention the relationship in the context of Social Security checks?

Really? When are you going to start?
Rational thought and common sense should tell you that when a blogger has to fabricate evidence to back up his accusations, there's nothing there.

Again, where did I say that "you have to have a relationship with your father to collect Social Security when he dies"
You can't because I haven't said such.

If he gets the same interest rate as anyone else, that's not an extra benefit.
If the lender follows the same lending guidelines with him as they do with everyone else, that's not an extra benefit either.

Well, then, why don't you explain exactly what you meant when you mentioned their relationship in the context of receiving Social Security checks.

You made a really dumb mistake when you decided to argue about this with an English teacher.
""He didn't really know his father until shortly before his death and his father died when he was 15 years old SO I highly doubt that even if we accept that he was getting SS checks the death benefit wouldn't be a whole lot and certainly wouldn't have provided a tiny nest egg of savings."
It's that little word SO. It means that what follows is a direct result of what preceded SO. BECAUSE they didn't have a relationship, the death benefit, IF HE WAS GETTING ONE, wouldn't be a whole lot.
