Not in the 2017/2019 rotation. We have 4 SEC home games in those years. They just aren’t good ones.

There's a massive difference from saying...
"Man this schedule change due to expansion sucks dick"
to
"We are unfairly being hindered by receiving an additional home game and must have the schedule changed to remedy it."

What other school had the SEC change the schedule since expansion due to malcontent with the schedules as they stand?
The date of any games hasnt been changed, they just want to schedule the game for a different slot than it has been in the recent past. The date has never been a part of the rivalry except on Auburn's side in a reference(Amen Corner). This happens all the time in the SEC.

You could have UF at home those years, thats why its self inflicted

If anything, were that game moved to Home/Home on it's current schedule, it would imbalance our schedule even more. If I'm not mistaken, we were the road team in 2017 and home last year... so it only would serve to strengthen our even year home schedule while making our permanent odd road schedule consist of:
Florida, Auburn, Ga Tech, and Tennessee - ie... the 3 biggest rivals + the other consistent Big6 matchup...

Not without reshuffling the rotation with one of the other teams. That would be our “road game” year with UF.

Jax wants the money brought in by the fans too much to let it get away. Worst case, do a home-neutral-home scenario. Athens - Jax- Gainesville rotation.

What about those statements is inaccurate. Literally only ONE SIDE is benefitting from any adjustment to the schedule here. No one else has requested having a game traditionally played at a particular time of year to be moved.

God almighty.

Talk about delusion.

A good compromise would be home/neutral/home/neutral. That would keep it novel and let Athens/Gainesville get the revenue every 4 years.

By the 1990's, Florida fans were clamoring all over themselves desperately wanting to get the game moved to home and home.
Uummm, WHUT? I've read some dumb $#!+ on the internet, but this might just take the cake.
I can't claim to know the feelings of all Gator and Dawg fans; but I've lived in Florida and Georgia for over 50 years, and I've never heard any Gator fans complaining about the WLOCP venue... just Dawg fans, and really, not very many of those either, to be honest.
Why would Gator fans even want it moved?

They actually didn't quote Spurrier fully, who just earlier this week said the game should stay in Jacksonville
What is he, bipolar? On crack? Schizo? To contradict himself on the subject in one week would be that he's one of the three, right? Oh no, not the "HBC", no? Y'all are tit-brained.

Current UGA SEC Schedules:
Even
Home: Vandy, Tennessee, Auburn, Florida*
Away: South Carolina, Kentucky, Missouri, Rotating West
Odd
Home: South Carolina, Kentucky, Missouri, Rotating West
Away: Vandy, Tennessee, Auburn, Florida*
We can't magically make UF a home game in the years we want it to... you get 4 home and 4 away SEC games... whether the game is officially played there or at a neutral site doesn't change anything with regards to when you "could" take it and play it at home.

if kirby is worried about recruiting, why doesn't he lobby to bring recruits to the WLOCP every other year? let the "home" team bring the recruits of their choice.

I dunno... Ask Spurrier?
quote:
Spurrier said. “Back in 1990 when I got (to Florida) my first year, the Gators wanted to move the game. We had lost 15 out of the last 20 there and they were telling me, ‘Coach we can’t beat em there.’
I think all of this is much ado about nothing... The game is great there... Would I enjoy a home/home occasionally? yeah... but not at the expense of losing what makes that game special.

I've asked this as well, but at the end of the day, it's not the same as hosting them on your campus and having the chance to show them where they would be living, going to school, etc... It's a unique atmosphere, but not sure it would actually be that beneficial to host recruits in Jax.

The Iron Bowl in Legion was cool because of the split crowd, everything else about it sucked.

Why would you stay in Jax for this game? Georgia coast..
