The bitching wasn't close to what AU fans have been doing continually about the DSOR

And Kirby talked about recruiting as the primary reason for moving the game period.

You have to be one of the most delusional uga fans on this board. I give you credit though, living in your reality is probably a lot of work...

This would suck for South Ga. Dawg fans.

This right here. Georgia has a fall break and this is like a 2nd Spring break for them. Florida doesn't get out of classes for this game. I think Georgia will regret it if they push to get the game moved.
I ran a bar in Athens for a couple years. I would literally get basically a week long vacation because everyone was gone hahah

I think most Dawg fans' frustration with the moving of DSOR was that it stemmed from Auburn complaints coming AFTER receiving what most perceived as an advantage when you guys got the extra home game against us... Ultimately, it is what it is, but getting a benefit and then bitching about the outcome only to get additional special treatment is a little much.
I wish McGoober would just be upfront about why we supported the change. He's a shite AD, so the knee-jerk reaction is to just say that's why... He keeps claiming that the alternative would have been worse... why be so fricking cryptic. Just say "here were our shitty options... this was an easy enough change to make so as not to get royally fricked by the long dick of the SEC"...
Since he won't even provide any hints/context for the rationale behind the decision, we're left assuming that he got cucked.

vast majority of Auburn fans dont care one way or another as the date of the game has no significance. If it helps Auburn win some games, thats what they care about. But if it doesnt change, its no sweat on our brows

quote:Bitching about the outcome? Where did Auburn fans bitch about receiving an extra home game? And The game overall has been played more times in athens than Auburn I believe. Auburn had nothing to do with scheduling and 6 total teams had the same thing happen, AU wasnt special
but getting a benefit and then bitching about the outcome only to get additional special treatment is a little much.

They didn’t bitch about that part. They absolutely did bitch about having Alabama and UGA on the same home/away rotation.

As much as I hate neutral site games, I do miss having the Egg Bowl at a neutral site just because of the 50/50 mix of fans. Now we have true home field disadvantage.

That's the thing... you (collectively) weren't unhappy to receive an extra home game... until the reality set in that it meant home/home & away/away every year for what amounted to 2 of the likely 3 most difficult games on the schedule - in particular 2 late season games.
6 teams may have had it happen, but only Auburn decided to make a stink about the resulting schedule "disparity".

In 2017, this was the home game slate:
App St
Samford
Miss St
Missouri
South Carolina
Kentucky
The only reason 2019 isn't just as bad is we get the return trip from ND (we skipped a year for the return visit LITERALLY because of how bad this schedule rotation is) and we draw aTm from the west for the first time since they joined the SEC.
I'm all for fixing the schedule, but not one off adjustments for specific teams. The SEC should have said we'll address it holistically with the next schedule - and they still should. Some variation of the Roommate Agreement or rotating pods really needs to happen... but given what we've seen, I don't anticipate our SEC leadership to try and break the norm with anything innovative.

For Auburn. UGA’s still waiting on it’s good outcome from the deal, which is why UGA fans are frustrated by the game moving.

No, just giving you our gripe. Part of your issues though are the WLOCP though, so its self inflicted

There's a massive difference from saying...
"Man this schedule change due to expansion sucks dick"
to
"We are unfairly being hindered by receiving an additional home game and must have the schedule changed to remedy it."
What other school had the SEC change the schedule since expansion due to malcontent with the schedules as they stand?
