Everyone says they're ready ahead of time then they get here and go through and say "I had no idea." It's the grind of an SEC schedule that's different. Every conference and team has big games they play and people are prepared for that but you can't really prepare for a 5-7 team that could beat the bottom half of the top 25 and that's what the SEC has regularly.

The single greatest Arkansas team in the last 12 years beat one of the top 10 worst teams in Texas history at home? NO WAY!!!!

We were playing former walkons all over the field and a first year starting qb as well. Y’all just suck.

I think Texas will have a good first season in the SEC. They will be pumped up for it. The adrenaline alone could be worth 1-2 scores.

I like how he avoids talking about what Texas A&M coming into the conference actually looked like. He just shot right past that uncomfortable part.

Yeah because by the end of the quote he came to the realization that it contradicted what he was saying.

Speaking from experience of being an expansion team, I feel it gave us an advantage for the first season or two. We were so hyped to be in the SEC. Fans of teams who never experienced it will not understand but you both will.

5 SEC schools have won a national championship since the Big12 last won a national title almost 20 years ago.

We did suck. I remember how mad I was watching that game. Looking forward to playing again.

Yet he went on to contradict himself anyway talking about Mizzou making a splash. He may have coached at Vandy, but he obviously didn't go to school there.

I believe you. As a fan, I don’t think I’ve ever been this excited about Texas football. 2024 can’t get here soon enough.

And you know this how? Did your players from that team credit "hyped to be there" for helping them win games?

Johnny snorted SEC hype before each game and at half time.

A&M came in with a Spread Air raid with a prototype QB to run it during a period of time that teams were trying to adapt to Saban’s bully ball control and suffocating run defense. The shake up was nearly flawlessly executed but like many high octane offense-first oriented teams - you eventually run out of bullets after enough film is taped. Similar to Malzahn at Auburn.

Mizzou had initial success bc the East from 2011-2016 outside of a few teams was a heaping pile of dog shite.

It's noteworthy that not one single SEC fan in this thread noticed his contradictions in his statement. Not one.
