1. OU - 47 wins
2. Texas - 30 wins
3. UGA - 29 wins
4. Bama - 28 wins
5. Tennessee - 23 wins
6. Arkansas - 22 wins
6. Florida - 22 wins
8. Auburn - 20 wins
9. LSU - 19 wins
9. A&M - 19 wins
11. MSU - 13 wins
11. Ole Miss - 13 wins
11. Vanderbilt - 13 wins
14. UK - 12 wins
15. USCe-10 wins
16. Mizzou - 9 wins
The ones that stick out are Bama being so low but also Mizzou only having a 9 game win streak when they played in 2 subpar conferences for decades.
Same can be said for OU & UT. Hard to say for sure but I suspect neither would be that high in the SEC.

that's the smallest limb to go out on of all time.
of course they woulnd't be as high if they were playing an SEC schedule

Now that OU and Texas are in a real conference you’ll never see them hit that win streak again. I’m not an Alabama fan by any means(frick them) but I’ll back them here. The reason why their win streak isn’t higher than OU or Texas is because they play in the SEC. It’s that simple.

Low?

i started typing out a response to that part of the OP but then erased it and moved on.
I think what OP meant was that considering bama's dominance in CFB for so long, he would have expected it to be MORE than 28. Not necessarily sayin that 28 itself is actually low.

How many titles were received between these two programs during their streaks?

Georgia hit 29 wins (1 less than texsa record)
Bama hit 28 wins (2 less than texsa record)
What conference do those two play in again?

The old Big 8 and the first 15 years of the B12 were not exactly "subpar". Educate yourself.

5. Tennessee - 23 wins
Longest win streak of 23 games was from 1937 through 1939...but longest streak without losing was from Late November 1926 through Mid-October 1930, when Tennessee went 30-0-3.

Quite amusing watching everyone run to cover up for why OU and Texas are the Top 2.
Back in the day, both were in better conferences than the SEC.
So your desperate theories are void.

Yes, low in the rankings. I expected Bama to be at the top.

The Oklahoma and Texas streaks were both before integration.
Alabama’s streak of 28 happened twice. 1978-1980 and 1991-1993. A tie ending the second streak of 28. It ended up being 31 consecutive unbeaten.
Saban had streaks of 20 and 26.

I'm surprised Mizzou's is so low but I wouldn't call the Big 8 or the early years of the Big 12 a subpar conference. In the Big 8, Nebraska, OU, and occasionally Colorado were all dominant before they became the laughingstocks they are today. And the Big 12 was just as competitive as the SEC until the mid 2000's.
That said, Mizzou is starting the season having won our last 4, and open the season with Murray State, Buffalo, Boston College, Vanderbilt, Texas A&M, UMass, & Auburn. If we can beat A&M on the road we should be able to pass USC on this list

the most difficult one, which is why neither has ever won 30 or 47 in a row. Which was the entire point of that guy's post.

A pick play on the goal line by Clemson prevented it from being 38.

You guys like to pretend the SEC was always what it is today, which amuses me.
You had your chances historically to make similar, or greater runs. You just couldn't do it. Accept it.

Why post this? It's a joke. Neither team has ever played an SEC schedule. They don't get to be in a list like this. After they've been here five years, they can be in the 'longest win streak in last five years' list.
After ten year, ten.
You're not gonna bring their crappy schedules into the toughest conference in the land and act like they deserve to be anywhere near this conversation.
They don't.
