and most other ADs for that matter. The top 10% of in tune posters here could do a better job than these ADs. Because these posters would also have ideas on the staff to bring in.

Scott got rid of Mullen to keep his job.

All it takes to be an AD is to have a couple of wealthy boosters to report to

All of these schools taking Mississippi State ADs and Coaches suddenly wish they hadn't.

Odd I was told "Florida was the place where Mullen would win SEC and National Championships that he could never do at Mississippi State!". When the reality is he couldn't do it at either.

It’s a political position at this point. I agree.

Stricklin is trying hard-to dip under Ray Tanner as the worst AD in the SEC.

Foley may have spoiled Gator fans a bit.

Just wait and see how phuqed-up things get once Ben Sasse arrives and take-over.

Thank you wartiger ... I'm doing okay. Sitting at home bored stiff trying to work my way through open heart surgery last week, but I'm waaaaaaay ahead of schedule for most my age.

In the meantime I've used the forced down-time to read some books, reflect on life and catch-up tSECRant. Having your chest cracked open changes your perspective on life to some degree. Puts things into perspective.

Can't blame muschamp on Jeremy. Muschamp was the #1 HC prospect in the country at the time ... the HCIW under Mack.

McElwain just turned-out to be a dick.

We can blame muschamp on Tanner here at SC. I fell for it personally but many many Gamecock fans were against it from the get-go and they were proved correct.

Tanner has yet to make a solid hire at anything. I do hope Shane works-out but muschamp went 9-3 with a bowl win against Michigan in his second season. Only time will tell with Beamer.

Gator fans wanted Muschamp, McElwain and Mullen when they were (all three) hired. That hasn't necessarily been the case with any of Tanner's hires.

It’s our diabolical plot to destroy our opponents from within. Byrne at Alabama will do it once Saban retires

I would just say that there was no thought needed to hire Urban Meyer or Dan Mullen. Meyer was with the then new president at Utah, and Mullen was an obvious choice having worked with Meyer.

When it comes to having to put thought into a hire, McElwain and Napier are both horrible for a place like UF. Sort of a pass of Muschamp, it was an original name, but even so, he didn't fit what had worked so well at UF.

These ADs are lackluster, or nothing special.

Byrne is awesome. Did pretty well in his only big hire to date in Oats.

I think one of the primary jobs of an AD is to take the heat for the boosters when their coaching hires go south.

A competent AD would’ve seen through the makeup and lipstick.

Like being the tallest midget. Templeton and Cohen. Byrne was OK but had his eye on the bigger prize the day he stepped on campus.
