I’m speculating as well but really from tone of interview I don’t know if he will be able to play NFL or college next year.

Based on what some doctors were saying (obviously not his doctors) after the injury, it seemed as if the consensus was he wouldn't even be ready to evaluate a timeline on when he could return for almost a year, which is why I found it odd some were saying earlier this week he could be ready to resume football activity as soon as August of 2020. That just seemed unrealistic with the severity of his injury. I've said all along, I think he should take a medical RS next year and continue to get top-shelf treatment for free and make 100% certain he is completely healthy before even attempting to come back. I also recall one of those doctors saying the blood flow issue could take a couple years before you know you're good to go, which is terrifying.

I agree with you. I think that’s his best option. I just hate this kid got hurt.

Well, to be fair, this was supposed to just be a presser for the local news people similar to one of Saban's but then the national guys picked up on it and wanted to broadcast it. Not his fault they misread his intentions. Alabama's 24/7 guys reported yesterday that he wasn't going to announce a decision today.

This has been and will be my statement in every thread about Tua:

If someone is willing to pay him money to play football this April he'd be the dumbest kid on the planet not to jump at the opportunity. He's had both ankles repaired, a hip rebuilt and now we learn about a fricking concussion?

Get your money kid. If you come back and play your way into a top pick you'll go to a shite team. Take your chances with getting picked up by a Pittsburgh or San Diego or any other franchise that isn't a shite show.

I’m afraid he gave away too much info. He was really open an honest about it all. Teams maybe scared to take a chance in him in the first two rounds now. If he can get any first round money he needs to go I think but I’d love to have him around the Alabama program even if it’s just as a GA

I don't think you get what I'm saying. If he can get ANY ROUND money he needs to go. He will get even better treatment, a paycheck and a chance. Coming back to Bama needs to be a very last resort unless his playing days are officially done and Bama uses him for fundraising or something. That hip injury has an awful recovery.

May be but if he drops to 3rd round he will be back in college to try and get better money. I don’t think he’ll be able to play next year either way though. Hate it for him too.

1000% this. Get a good degree while he’s redshirting next year so he has a fallback plan if football is a no-go.

What are the chances he “stays” but sits out next year and just prepares for the draft by getting healthy?

I think playing another year of college football would be detrimental to his future in the NFL.

I don’t think anyone expected him to announce that today

It was actually a great troll for our Bama haters. Like this OP clown, they're all hanging over their TVs watching live feeds, ready to literally faint if he did announce that he was coming back. These people are absolutely scared shitless that he'll be back next year.
Saban probably masterminded the entire thing.
