...a great offensive mind?

Or

...a guy who has been blessed with a loaded offense and a couple of QBs who thrive at creating when the play breaks down?

Similar to Gus.

A lot of these “gurus” have made a ton of cash off athletic QB’s playing backyard ball.

Isn’t that every offensive coach ever?

Are we really going to act like Alabama has had some kind of marvelous brilliance on offense prior to Tua?

Lincoln Riley reminds me of that one out of place redneck friend in high school who would ask to borrow your car and return it on empty.

Great offensive mind......BUT, I would be interested to see how his dad fresnel would perform going through a real conference grind. I would guess Murray wouldn’t have lasted the season and they would’ve had 2-3 losses if they were in the SEC.

Also, holy shite they hold and push off! Just to get an obligatory bitching in

He has yet to prove he’s anything more than Kevin Sumlin. Sumlin won pretty big when he had Manziel. Not so much without him. Let’s see how Riley adjusts when he can’t depend on his QB to be the best player on the field every game.

Accrues great offensive talent but can’t do so defensively. Does a good job putting that talent in position to be able to go out and improvise.

By comparison, Kirby does a great job accruing talent on both sides of the ball and has generally solid outputs in both sides but hasn’t been consistently great jay deploying the talent on both sides( unlike Bama which has been great at both accruing and deploying talent at everything but kicking field goals)

When it was 28-0 and he gathered the entire team and gave the passionate speech I thought it was gonna get even worse and he was gonna look like a bush league jackass. Instead they actually got a little something going and kept fighting. So kudos to him

Has anybody even touted Lox's ability? I do know Enos tutoring has positively effected Jalen Hurts bigly

A good offensive coach. Is he a great offensive coach? I don't know. We will find out when he doesn't have a Heisman trophy winner running the show for him.

Oklahoma made a game of it once Alabama took their foot of the gas but national title teams don't let themselves fall behind 28-0 early in the second quarter.

I suspect Oklahoma will continue to do very well in the Big 12 as I don't think the Longhorns are up to their level. Barring a great year from WVU or TCU Oklahoma can be safely penciled in as a ten win minimum team for years to come.

That’s the comparison that will start being thrown around.

Riley is the best offensive play caller/schemer in college football. Has had dynamic offenses everywhere he has been.

When he was at East Carolina his offenses were very, very good.

I tell you who the jury is out on you can debate this and it is Dabo Swinney. He gets a free pass into the playoffs every year in that candy cane conference. They may suffer the same fate as Oklahoma did because they haven't played anyone and I include ND.

His teams only have to really get up for one or two big games a year and in this case this season only one.

Can he recruit? Yes because of their record but I'd love to see how they'd do in say the SEC West.
