This is terrible timing as we are about to move to the SEC

It's perfect time to rip the bandaid off and get a staff in there that can lead us in the right direction. Riley was never going to get us over the hump.

No one even heard of Riley till Bob Stoops found him

That isn't true. Riley was pretty well known for his success as OC at ECU.

The hiring of Riley was unexpected and not the direction OU fans thought we were going (nor the direction many wanted to go) but Riley was destined to be hired by a big name program.

Better get the perfect fit who can salvage some recruiting. Coming into the SEC with even less talent and the wrong coach could be devastating to your program. It's probably going to be even if you do those things. You guys are stupid for letting Texas talk you into this. Could have sat and been kings of the B12 for another few decades. Instead you will be just another face in the crowd in the SEC.

You think this because as an Arkansas fan you have delusions that your program is historically comparable to OU and you are just another face in the crowd in the SEC.

The fact is, your program prior to moving to the SEC was nowhere near OU's level by any historical measure. You had a few years in the '60s but nobody has ever considered Arkansas anywhere near a blue blood.

Oklahoma is far closer to the recruiting hotbeds in Texas. For many in the DFW area, Oklahoma is the closest big name school.

If you are saying we'll be another face in the crowd like Florida, Georgia, or LSU, then fine. If you say we will historically compare with Arkansas or Ole Miss, you are suffering delusions.

We may have a very tough time initially considering the damage this is doing to our program but in the long run we will be a lot closer to the top tier programs than to your mediocre program.

You are the delusional one if you think your "history" means a damn thing here. Doesn't have anything to do with what I'm talking about either but that's great you have history. I'm sure it will keep you warm through those 6-6 offseasons when you join.

It is a blessing for y’all at OU. Riley doesn’t give a shite about defense and he wouldn’t be successful in the SEC with that mindset. Glad that OU will be in the conference soon.

Only Bama fans get this . He lied to us and led everyone on that he was not going anywhere . This is the first coach at OU to leave OU to another college since 1920s.
He’s dead to every OU fan and now we are glad he’s gone we don’t want a coach like this. We are going to get an elite coach we always do. I do think the defense was getting better but it’s still nowhere close where we need it. Yah we won’t get as many 5 stars every year but OU has t had a problem getting offensive talent even before Riley was there . Brent Venables is on the short list .

If you're lucky, Bama and Auburn go East, and OU and Tejas will take their place in the West, joined by Missouri, but it's hard to see that happening without Florida and UGA screaming foul! Another, more like scenario has the SEC splitting teams into 4 pods of 4 teams each.

Would have no problem with Bama and Auburn coming East. We already play Auburn and Bama vs. UGA every year would be great for cfb. Auburn vs. Fla and Auburn vs. Tenn are also correct.

Since OU started playing football, well before statehood, no head football coach has ever left OU for another school. Fairbanks went to New England before going to Colorado. LR was the first. Bless his heart

This is because your fraudulent program has played basically a two game season for the vast majority of it’s existence. Texas and Nebraska. Daddy Texas still holds a 12 game margin in the series despite Swooner dominance in the last TWO DECADES, and Nebraska was a shite program until the mid 1960s.

In the year 2000, when Bob Stoops was considered a defensive genius. It’s the last National Title that the Swooners won a well.

I thought you guys were joining next year and we are paying the penalty cuz we make it up with new TV money? Is that not happening now?

No one expects you to be doormats, but the first few years might be brutal. it’s the freaking injury’s and shite. The bama team that beat Georgia for natty had a schedule of LSU (Won but was bloodbath) Mississippi State (barely won) as then Auburn, (got killed ) all top 15 very physical teams and by the time they got to auburn it was a complete arse kicking. of course auburn lost so many key players that they got beat by Georgia while bama got 5 weeks to heal up, as eventually won a Natty.

You guys are going to have to spend a lot more money too. it’s a complete arms race here, sleeping pods, waterfalls, lazy river’s etc in locker room. It’s insane but we all share the money equally too.
