One of the largest energy sector employers in Texas no longer sends recruiters to Austin due to poor results from longhorn graduates.
That is a body slam on them.

The truth about the Lonestar Network was Byrne said he didn't think it was feasible. The truth is that you were too poor to front the money to get it off the ground without giving up more ownership to Texas, which you didn't want to do.
Your AD approached a school that sucked in athletics and was poor as a partner? You’re talking out of both sides of your mouth.
And Byrne wasn’t wrong, as proven by the fact that it doesn’t exist today. And when it did exist it sucked, wrought with shitty content and subscriber issues for almost the entire 10 years it operated.

Your argument is that Texas destroyed the Big 12
And of course Texas destroyed the SWC, because that’s the company line for aggy.
Nevermind the fact that half the damn conference was on probation and it was a small, regional league when TV markets were becoming the rage. aTm being the best SWC and not having any games on TV and being ineligible for a bowl was a huge nail in the coffin.

It’s football, people get hurt. Did I miss a cheap shot on Beck or something?

Nah, Georgia fans are just having a tough time accepting their win. They know they got thrown around like rag dolls, so it’s a bad look.

To be fair, he probably knew how poor you were and was happy to use that to leverage more ownership. He obviously knew a single school's third tier content wouldn't sustain a network, and Texas A&M -- despite sucking at sports -- had and has a huge following of people who would watch.
I agree that Byrne was right. ESPN obviously had to know that as well, but they took the financial hit to poison the Big 12 South/Pac10 deal, which would give a ton of ESPN-controlled content to FOX.
A decade later ESPN owns the SEC and brings Texas and Oklahoma. Pretty decent maneuvering on their part.

You said we are soft so I posted a picture of your QB getting fricking rocked.
He didn't get rocked. He got up and put his helmet on and only left the field because he had to because his helmet came off. So we sent in a one-armed QB and won the game on the next play.

Multiple Texas posters said “frick yea! frick Beck!”
So that’s the whole fanbase huh? I guess you’re new around here because I’ve read a lot of stupid things said during the heat of the game. And then at the end, sanity returns. Perhaps that’s it.
The chat I was in, several lamented that Beck was hurt and hoped he’d return in the third quarter. We especially felt that way after his replacement started playing so well

Texas leaving the Big 12 destroyed it?
I heard many say the Big12 is better since we left. I’m happy for them.

They had their own network FFS. It's unreasonable to expect them to be capable of playing well with others.
I have no idea what the hell you’re talking about. It was a good game and the best team won.
Go get some vagisil or something. What a bunch of f-ing whiners. You won the damn game! What are you bitching about?

Apparently he didn’t know jack shite. Because while he was screwing around with a network, A&M went and got rich all on their own.
I have no doubts you pukes had some long game that included screwing over A&M, but y’all forgot one little detail: we didn’t need Texas.

Seen a lot of this in the professional world over the last couple of decades. In my career, I've seen more far more smart, driven, ambitious, and talented folks advance quickly up the ladder from A&M, Tech, UNT, & UH than I have from UT.
UT folks are smart, but they're so damn arrogant they can't work with people. And don't want to do the day-to-day stuff that ultimately builds the understanding of the business. And ultimately it becomes a cap on their career progression. Sad.
