Didn't the Mizzou bookstore sell t shirts last year to celebrate their win over UK?
From the Yahoo article:
quote:
The shirt reads: "CAGED THE CATS" and then gives the score of the game. Only it doesn't give the score. Nope, as part of the #fail that is this shirt, the score is actually just XX's. Because even the people who made the shirts, posted them on the website and proofread the website didn't care enough to watch a game against two of the SEC's most terrible teams or even update the image after the game concluded.

Yea. I can see a mighty football program selling tshirts to celebrate a win over UK.
Mizzou, not "powerhouse" they think they are. Lulz.

Think you gotta view that in it's context. It was Mizzou's 1st homecoming in the SEC and they made the shirt for students & alumni and that picture was for pre-ordering purposes hence(XX for scores)
Note: I haven't seen any from this years homecoming. Guess they figured that one was burned in Mizzou fans memory forever.

Beats losing 33-10 to a team that sells shirts to celebrate wins like that, though.

Yeah, its at the t-shirt and Civil War stage now. Riveting stuff.

You really think the athletic dept. printed the t-shirts?!
Some bookworm in the bookstore came up with it to make money.

He's an LSU fan
Guess he just wasn't happy with nothing being said about this game.

Umm, yeah....

I figured posters would pick up on the "Let's talk about Kentucky football" followed by a post of "(no message)"

Well, people picked up on it alright.
Well played.

Kentucky fans are just responding to Missouri smack, not instigating it.
I, for one, am well-aware of how far UK needs to go to become competitive. The fact that I'm optimistic that things are happening to make UK competitive doesn't change the reality of where UK is right now.
The existence of flaws in the UK football team doesn't prevent me from pointing out flaws in other football teams or the arguments of that team's fans.

I'm not saying its not OK to fight smack with smack. But any time your smack involves a game you lost, I think the shite needs to be restrategized cuz if you realize it or not, that kinda smack will always look like shite. "LOL beating us is your Superbowl!" Well OK then either A) that's not true in which case no amount of asserting it by you will actually make the opposing fans really feel like they won the Superbowl, or B) the opposing fans really do feel that way, in which case they are gleefully happy and its your own team's fault for losing the game that the opponent gets to parade around like a Superbowl champ. It's just a bad approach either way.
Now rather than the 33-10 game, you could point to the all time series perhaps, or go the basketball route, or point out some game Mizzou lost to some other team besides UK, I dunno. I just don't think I would ever be mentioning anything involving a game Mizzou lost 33-10 in any context if I was talking to the fans of the team that beat us by that score, it just looks bad.

I don't need a lesson in smack-talking.
Again, in case you missed it the first time:
The futility of Kentucky football in 2012 is exactly why making a t-shirt about beating them is absurd and smack-worthy.
The fact that UK was (and still is) bad doesn't preclude me from talking smack about your school making a stupid t-shirt about beating a bad UK team.
UK has a two-game losing streak to a Sunbelt opponent. I'm not sure why you think UK fans should cringe about losing to Missouri last year.
