Let's take a tour of our two new campuses to the SEC, shall we?

It's time to get to know our new adoptees and how they keep up appearances so as to better acquaint ourselves when the rest of us
conference family members wish to pay a visit
First up, the University of Texas ("at Austin", as they now wish to distinguish themselves -- from the rest of the state)............
Actually, TU has an attractive campus....notice its proximity to the downtown area.
Darrell K Royal Texas-Memorial Stadium (100,119) is nicely situated on campus. It's convenient.
DKR Stadium is quite full here as the Longhorns are about to play a Big 12 opponent (quite honestly, I haven't seen this few people in a stadium since Vanderbilt. Surely, this will change when the SEC comes rollin' in).
Now, on to Norman and the University of Oklahoma.............
OU was recently named one of the Top 10 Most Historic Campuses in the USA! It was named along with some other prestigious schools like Princeton, Cal-Berkeley, etc. It was the ONLY Big 12 school named......OU was also named one of the Top 25 Most Beautiful Campuses in the nation. Again, it was the ONLY Big 12 school so named.
Congratulations, Oklahoma!
Throughout its campus is what's called "Cherokee Gothic" architecture of its buildings. They're beautiful.
Here's a cool look at the campus.....not sure where it is, but it's beautiful.
Check this out....OU's answer to Big Ben!
Springtime in Norman!
OU Memorial Stadium (80,126)....again, notice the Cherokee Gothic architecture of its exterior....impressive.

Does Texas still have the vagina shaped end zone they run out of?

They are both interesting campus locations.
Texas campus is very impressive and prominent. Its huge buildings and architecture make it look like it could be the Capitol complex of a some country in Latin America.
OU's campus is far more typical of your small town University campus. Despite Norman morphing into a suburb of OKC... they done a really good job of keeping the campus area from changing too much. It still seems like you are in a small town when you are on or around the campus.
Contrast that to the area around Texas' campus. EVERYTHING around it is drastically different than it was a few decades ago. Fortunately, the heart of campus is still the same.

This thread doesn't seem right without Tillman's input.

Sure buddy

The name “Oklahoma” is derived from the Choctaw language, with the words “okla” meaning “people” and “humma” meaning “red”. Therefore, the name Oklahoma can be literally translated to “red people”. This refers to the Native American tribes that inhabited the region, particularly the Choctaw Nation, who were known for their red-colored clothing and headdresses.

Quite the defensive melt, which in turn reveals that your state is named after skin color. Sad. Your state and fanbase should do better.
When people become defensive to sarcasm, it reeks of insecurity.

True story . . the term Cherokee Gothic was a quip by Frank Lloyd Wright when touring the Norman Campus.
Evans Hall has the same style.

Think his pic might be a little dated.

Not so fun fact, that blocky awful thing and the Cherokee Gothic building above are actually both the same building. They added onto the original library with that monstrosity in the 1960s. So weirdly our library is our best looking building and one of our worst looking buildings at the same time.

Oklahoma is much nicer and the fans are not a crowd of Richard Heads like the Texas bunch.
