Why sure it matters, a 2 loss Bama team might not make the playoffs. Especially with one of the losses being to an unranked opponent.

A two loss Alabama would have wins over Georgia and at least three of these four: @LSU, @Tennessee, @OU, Mizzou. To think that a 10-2 Alabama team wouldn’t make it in because they lost to Vanderbilt instead of another mid/lower tier bowl team is just stupid.
