The point is that MSU is less likely to win a championship than Bama is if they make the playoff, regardless of who wins on Saturday.

Disagree. I'm all in on Clanga.

Why do you say that?

Because MSU can play well and still lose, because the raw talent of their team is inferior to many teams in America.

Alabama has such an overwhelming abundance of talent that they are essentially unbeatable on a good day. There are very few teams who could avoid being blown out by Bama when they play well, let alone beat them.

If MSU beats Bama on Saturday then good for them, their best still isn't as good as Bama's best.

Either we are more talented or better coached.

Mullens certainly isn't a bad coach, but experience and great QB play will win many coaches a lot of games.

If the goal is to have an SEC national champion, and our choices are MSU or Bama, Alabama is the far surer bet.

Both of the teams discussed here pounded A&M into submission, and that isn't relevant to this discussion whatsoever.

Why are you dick riding Bama so hard? Why would you want any team other than your own to win the playoff?

I'm not dickriding anything. I've read countless posts here over the years of posters taking pride in the SEC dominating the CFB landscape. If that is indeed the goal (and it is for many here) then this is just a simple analysis of which of the two possible playoff contenders is more likely to win the title should they make the playoff.

State is every bit as good as Alabama. I think they'd win the playoff if they got in it.

Sims hasn't been near as consistent as Dak, with no team in CFB this year really having a dominant defense, QB play will be the deciding factor in some of those January games. Give me Dak and Robinson all day long all over their shitty RB rotation and an inconsistent QB.

Based on what? Recruiting rankings?

if it weren't for A&M pulling it's pants down and shitting in Tuscaloosa then this wouldn't even be a discussion.

Since we're being honest, I wasn't impressed by Bama at LSU at all. MSU seems to have hit their peak and is in decline. I'm not feeling good about any SEC team doing good in the playoff.

We didn't look good before the LSU game either. Mullen has been able to get his team up for the big games, AU, LSU, A&M, and that will be no different saturday. Hard to get the same excitement for two SEC programs that have won four SEC games since 2011.

I think you'll be surprised by the overall talent discrepancy on the field Saturday.
