Our boy Arch is gonna be just fine. Just give it time.
Boy has that sweet, soft, drop it in there ability and that over the mountain toss like his Uncle Rico. Just gotta work on the side slanger to put it all together.

No one said you had to agree with me,
But they had you by 14 points until the game was almost over that’s not a close game
And the fact that you could only score 7 points, one time in the game near the end of the game
Add to that Ohio State had lost eight of their starters on defense should make you very nervous

I actually agree with you and I think he’ll be fine. I also kinda feel bad for him because he’s not out there running his mouth, it’s just the talking heads.
But those uncle Rico videos on Twitter are fricking hilarious.

Peyton Manning threw 5 interceptions against Mississippi State College his first year and lost the game for UT. Not a good idea to judge him on his first year as a starter. And Mississippi State wasn’t Ohio State. Arch has good legs and a good arm. Time will tell if he has it between the ears….where it counts most at the QB position.
LOL.....Peytons 1st start at MSU.....Played great and Vols won going away.

Per PFF, unsurprisingly the team graded out the highest by far of any team to lose this past weekend at 77.6. Ohio State was at 71.7
Texas
77.6 OVERALL
66.4 OFFENSE
72.2 PASSING
57.2 PBLK
59.6 RECV
75.2 RBS
58.5 RUNBLK
80.3 DEF
87.9 RUNDEF
84.8 TACKLING
72.4 PASS RUSH
67.0 COVERAGE
67.5 SPECIAL TEAMS
OHIO STATE
71.7 OVERALL
62.7 OFFENSE
72.3 PASSING
39.9 PBLK
63.0 RECV
66.3 RBS
55.6 RUNBLK
72.8 DEF
70.9 RUNDEF
79.0 TACKLING
65.2 PASS RUSH
72.0 COVERAGE
67.1 SPECIAL TEAMS
Arch grades about like you would expect. His elite throw% was an ungodly 13.3%, only player higher was Cal's qb who looked like the 2nd coming of Steve Young, and double what most 1st round qb's average. But his turnover worthy plays were also double what you would expect at 5.9% as Downs overran a chance at a 2nd pick after jumping coverage
Really looking the advanced metrics, the overreaction to this game is absurd. Texas won in almost every facet and just failed to capitalize. Arch made several NFL-level elite throws while also missing some easy looks that will get ironed out. Completely reasonable for his first real start in that insane environment vs what is likely the best secondary in the country
Pretty gross on paper as the stats say Texas should have won by 10-14 and they walked away with the L, but it is what it is. Anyone thinking this team isn't still a serious title contender is flat out delusional

you have access to individual grades?
Littleton? I saw someone say he graded highest on the team.
Hill? He was MIA at times.
Simmons? Their RT kept him in check a little bit, but part of that was by design I felt like.
LeFau? Had a great game imo.
Any others on defense?

Some of it, they're still grading things like coverage schemes and matchups
Littleton graded well, but he got targeted on some quick hits. 4 targets in 12 pass snaps, but almost every throw Sayin made was within 10 yards of the LOS. If you exclude the jumpball to Tate, ADOT was 4.4 which is laughably conservative

Arch Manning has been put in an impossible situation by the media hype machine. I credit his family for doing what they could to shield him from it, but he will have to surpass his uncles as a player to not be deemed a failure in a lot of peoples’ eyes, which is unfortunate for him as a person.
Who do you think put him in that situation?

quote:Burrow literally transfered to LSU in the summer. Arch has had 3 springs at Texas under the same system and still looks like trash. Arch played in more games laat year than Burrow did before he started vs Miami.
Joe Burrow vs Miami 11-24 140 yards 0 TD 0 INT 4 carries 14 yards

Manning won’t beat OU or UGA. Both those defenses will bring out everything terrible in his technique. The only question right now is whether he loses to FL as well, taking Texas completely out of the playoff discussion
