Which is absurd considering they won head-to-head prior to the game in Las Vegas.
Is it absurd? Who do you think is better Alabama or Texas?

Nobody is arguing that this edition of FSU is better than Bama.
People with a measure of objectivity see that the undefeated team of a P5 deserves the spot. They won the games. Teams for the history of rankings almost never ever move down after a win.

Texas until Alabama proves otherwise.

But it doesn’t make it any less true. Texas beat us by 10 on our own field. It wasn’t a fluke. They outplayed us.

No. It's just sad that the season kind of doesn't matter now.

College football fans have only themselves to blame. They wanted a playoff. The system was perfectly fine for 70+ years but because of this “trophy mentality” our generation grew up with, we thought it unfair to leave so many teams out of the national championship picture.
If the BCS was still around we’d all be fine with a Washington-Michigan match-up and would have understood why FSU was left out.

And the part about who you would bet on in the rematch?

It’s not very hard to understand that people don’t like Bama.

I don't gamble.

Alright man I’m obviously not gonna get it out of you, but if you’re being honest with yourself you think Bama is gonna win the rematch
Which is why it’s fundamentally not absurd for me or anyone else to believe that Oregon was a better team than Washington going into the championship

This … just like in the MLB and the NFL, if you have expanded playoffs you inherently make the regular season less important other than as a means to qualify for the postseason, where caca can happen.

If Fsu beats Georgia in the Orange Bowl they can claim an undefeated national championship like their little sister UCFCC did a few years back.

let's be honest then. you know there is saban bias. you know the refs cheat for bama. go ahead and be honest yourself.

Not at all, for me were it Bama going 13-0 with their third string QB, they would have still been in the playoffs.
I think one can still think FSU got the shaft but not be too upset because Bama is a very good team. It could have gone either way and I think FSU should have got the nod for being 13-0 and wining a Power 5 conference title.
I also can see the argument for Bama being in but next year this is all a moot issue.

Florida State is where they belong.
With your logic Washington shouldn't be at 2 then because there were other teams that passed the eye test better than Washington and that 13-0 record they have shouldn't have been considered. For example Georgia. I believe Georgia would beat Washington 10/10 times, should that mean they get left out of the top 4?

Their choice is justified, you just don't like the justification.
If you truly believe that FSU could compete with the Top 4 teams in the nation, with a backup QB, then you are either:
A.) Delusional
B.) Lying to yourself
C.) You think the Top 4 completely suck
It's a tragedy what happened to Travis, but the team is not the same without him. Everyone noticed.
Let's not forget that there is ZERO outrage about a 1 loss Texas being ranked above FSU. That seems a bit hypocritical to me. Not to mention that Liberty got 'snubbed' when they proved it on the field just as much as FSU... let's be consistent with the arguments.
