Les Miles = Larry Coker.

Saban = Program builder and King Recruiter

That's the public perception anyway.

Saban's current assistant Bobby Williams did wonders with Michigan State after Saban left.

Do you disagree with what I stated? Do you not believe that people outside of Louisiana view Les Miles as a coach who took over a program already at powerhouse stature and won a National Championship with someone else's players? Or do you just enjoy throwing elementary insults around and making yourself look like an arse?

Miles may be cool to his players, but he needs to garner their approval because he's not charismatic in those other ways. to me, Miles is utterly un-charismatic. if i played for him, i'd have to find motivation from other coaches

yes because you know what it's like at LSU practices

Once Bama fans will be able to admit that LSU was just as good for Saban as Saban was for LSU, this issue will be moot.

First of all,you are a jackass. No I do not believe your nonsense. I do think Alabama fans such as yourself are obsessed with Saban . Flunky Alabama fans like you want to convince themselves that everything LSU has done since 2005 is because of Saban.

I guess from what you are saying Gene Stallings won a title with Bill Curry's players.

That may be true in terms of reputation, however, Saban was successful prior to his arrival at LSU. His term at MSU was successful - given the circumstances - even though he didn't win any championships.

Really? In the five years Saban was at MSU the team's record was 35-24-1. In the five years following his departure, the team's record was 34-37, with the best record being an 8-5 mark in 2003. Wonders?

Alright!! another Miles vs. Saban debate...

Look Miles isn't as bad as what Bama fans make him out to be. Saban isn't as bad as what LSU fans make him out to be. Both have their disctint style of coaching and both are good coaches. Just because Miles walked into a program with lots of talent and failed to win every game by 50 points doesn't make him a terrible coach. Just because Saban lost to Florida and Utah to end the season doesn't make him a bad coach. Seriously, Both Bama and LSU are in good hands and the SEC West will come down to this game in many years to come.

and that will be the day the sky falls and pigs are flying

is it LSU's fault that our ex coach bolted for the NFL when our program was at powerhouse status? i think there are only a handful of coaches that could have won a MNC after Saban. These gumptards act like they could have done it if they were on the sidelines.

Plain and simple...they got our sloppy seconds and are a little bitter about it.

Absolutely, and I'm not a Saban-hater or a Miles-booster. You just have to look at it objectively. Saban came to LSU in 2000 to a program that was filled with very talented players, but had suffered at the hands of consistent subpar coaching. A program that was #1 in a state that is consistently loaded with high school football talent. A program that had the money and the desire to do what it took to get better. Combine that with Saban's coaching ability and you have the "resurgence" of LSU football, that is still continuing. No, it was not due to Saban, although he was a crucial cog in the machine. It was due to many factors that all came together at the right time and place.

That is the national perception. You don't have to like it, that's just the way it is. Saban is a program builder, and Les Miles wins with someone else's players.

Fixed. Truth.

I don't have a problem admitting that Stallings was put in a position to succeed largely due to Curry's recruiting efforts. Curry was an outstanding recruiter. Then again, Alabama fans typically don't have little-man syndrome.

Um,it was a joke. Some Alabama fans maintain that anyone could have taken over LSU with "what Saban left behind" yet fail to acknowledge what a colossal failure their special teams coach,Bobby Williams was when he took over for Saban at Michigan State in 2000.
