why can't we just let them have the damn cowbells? seriously?
take it away and they are just another smaller stadium that 0 allure to go for away games. i say let them have it, it's their schtick.

NCAA has no rule on artificial noise makers only SEC

By all means lets split hairs because he said NCAA rather than SEC.
Here's a clue you play in the SEC. Don't want to follow the SEC rules go join the Sunbelt then you can follow the NCAA rules and bang all the cowbells you want.

We need to hand out some cheap loud noise makers when we play Miss State. It's only fair.

Ok. I would like some information on two things:
(1) What is the NCAA rules on artificial noisemakers (I know what the SEC's is )
(2) Who was the other dissenting vote, surely we can dig that up
I will paypal you twenty bucks for accurate information on this. Get Geauxeauxgling!

It'd be awesome if 60,000-70,000 people growled at the same time.Kinda like the "Bill-Dozier" growl.

so if there is no rule against noisemakers why were cowbells previously outlawed?

That's just low down and dangerous. I don't rat people out to the marshall, but if I ever saw somebody blowing one of those during a game, LSU fan or not, I would roll on them like nobody's business and have them thrown out.

I think it is very important to address these issues now. Realize it or not, but MSU is going to be a premier SEC power within the next 5 years. If you wait until they are a threat before you start complaining, then you have no chance at fixing the problem. Lets be honest, Miss State is now the #1 football school in the state of Mississippi. Their coach is doing damn fine with the talent he has, and we've all seen what he can do with talent like he had at UF. Miss State is slowly accumulating money now that he is winning and building better facilities, and it won't be long before a vast majority of in-state talent stays at MSU. Let's face it, Ole Miss and MSU are exchanging roles... and lets not forget how many freggin seasons Ole Miss has soured for us.

I think some of you have the numbers wrong...SEC athletic directors initially voted 10-2 AGAINST the "compromise" cowbell rule instituted last year, effectively banning them altogether. And then for some reason, the coaches voted to extend the new rule for another year, allowing them at the "proper times". WTF are the coaches thinking!
