I really do not hold the first 2 seasons against him. Totally different system, totally different players, and a totally different scheme means he had to train our players and this stuff is complex. If you look at our film or watch our team a lot of the times even they do not know all the complex formations that they should line up in.

It is a pro style offensive scheme that can not be stopped. Talent is only a key but if Casey Dick can move the ball in it then any one can.

Petrino and the original flamer and everyone that has posted in this thread knows that

No. I honestly disagree.

What are you basing this Petrino love on? He's a good coach sure, but he hasn't accomplished even close to what Les has.

What has Petrino done to put him on Les' level?

Let me see. He took a piss poor Louisville team to a BCS, and won. He took an Arkansas team in 2 years, depleted of talent to a bowl. Now he's in year 3 and there's talk of a BCS bowl. We won't go to a BCS bowl most likely, but it's possible.

What has Les done? He took a stacked team to a National Championship...not his recruits, and you and all the LSU fans admit it. Since he's had his recruits he hasn't done anything but make a mockery of the HC position. I like Les, he seems like a good person, but he will never take your team to the NCG with his recruits.

And you say a lot of coaches could have takin Arkansas to "not shitty anymore level", but you also say that we have no chance of competing because we're Arkansas. Make up your damn mind man.

I had a response but I just stopped here. We're 10-1 and ranked #5 with 100% Les Miles recruits. Your theory is shot.

61-16.
If it was so damn easy to win at LSU why the hell did LSU suck for 2 decades? Nobody is willing to answer that question.

i would like a list of Petrino's accomplishments that proves he is a better coach.

He won a BCS game at Louisville
A National Championship at Auburn as a coordinator
Went to the NFL as a head coach for 6 million a year

He is a better coach than les miles. A lot of good coaches could win at LSU even Houston Nutt could. It takes a GREAT coach to win at Arkansas on a consistent basis and he is doing that.

So being ranked #5 and being 10-1 is nothing right?

By the same logic we could have a serious debate about whether or not Larry Coker is a better coach than Miles. Do you honestly think Arkansas fans wouldn't be all over Petrino if we thought he wasn't doing a damn good job?

As wrong as you are, the fact that you think of LSU as THAT much better than Arkansas makes it worth it

So you're basically saying that LSU is a better overall place?

Look up Coker's record in year six at Miami and compare it Miles this year and get back to me.

He'd been at LSU for three years, and a lot of those were his recruits.

He's 10-1 so far this year with 100% of his recruits, and he's beaten all three conference teams who LSU lost too last year. Including defending national champion Alabama.

And 2011 will be one of the strongest teams in LSU history. Les should be wearing shades.

Yeah, I love the fact that they're talking down their program just to prove how good Petrino is.

No way Miles wins at Louisville or Arkansas like Petrino. Petrino would be a lock to win an NC at a school with a good recruiting base.

And trying to compare Miles and Petrino's recruiting is pointless; as Miles recruiting base is much better than Arkansas.

and btw what Miles did at Oklahoma State is AT LEAST as impressive as what Petrino did at Louisville when you consider level of competition. Oklahoma State had something like 13 out of 14 losing seasons in a row before Les became HC. In one of the toughest divisions in football.

Petrino will eventually leave Arkansas for a bigger job anyway, so yall really need to love him a little less

so this is better than
61-16 at lsu
1 BCS national championship
1 Sugar bowl victory
wins over #4 and #3 ranked Oklahoma in consecutive years, while at the much maligned little sister school okie light.

Miles' record at OK State was better than Jimmy Johnson's; be careful with that argument now
